Which one?
I can have either of the two, and they're the same price. Which one is better? I'm guessing the Source version.
I'd get Half-Life, because you can play all the HL1 mods, and some are excellent.
HL:Source adds nothing but physics and water effects.

HL:source is better with the HD pack, but if you want mods, get the normal version
I have both, and for normal playthroughs, i use the source version, and sometimes the source DM version for deathmatch
Half-Life is better in my opinion
HL1 because the water and other stuff looks out of place and shitty in Source.

You cannot put a price on a source mod, it's illegal.

Its a actual game.
Its not like "Oh we made a new story line and new weapons." kind of game,its a "Oh we got permission from valve to put a price on it and we moddified the source engine to fix bugs." kind of game

You should've bought HL1 when it was 0,95€.
HL:S is only really fun when you are using cheats to kill scientists at the start.

The ragdolls make it better.
Definitely HL1. I still love playing HL1DM and prefer it 10 times over HLDM:S (besides it barely has any active servers)
And the mods are awesome
The enemies feel different, robotic and generic in HLS.
Especially when a scientist or a garg does a 180 in half a second.
Go for the original.
