Where to find developers or companies who build Valve Mods
41 replies, posted
Hi Everyone,
I've been reading up on Valve mods and am currently building a new company in the space. I was wondering if anyone knew of any companies or individual developers who can be hired to help.
A little about me: I'm a 2x founder/developer/ceo who has sold two companies over the last 7 years and is starting a 3rd company in the gaming space.

First of all, with your business:
Listen to the fucking customer or your screwed.
This is especially relevant in gaming.
Lol.

theres this great company called dark artz gaming.. you should try it!
CEO who can't spell, hires people on an internet forum and plans to start a "3rd" company that involves games when he himself can't make a game.
Where do I sign up!

Get a good lawyer
I'm making a mod.
But I'm sure as hell not involving your ass.
I would like to help, but I am about to take my private jet to Valve island to work on Half Life 3.
I'd like a job, can I be the ideas guy?

This really concerns me, did you really just sign those companies off because you wanted to go into other investments? Or did those businesses fail? Or did you strip them of their assets and then sold off the left overs? More importantly what were those businesses? Can you give us their names and what country you are based in.
Are you able to give us any information or proof that you are not another idea guy whos walked over here in an attempt to grab content creators? Because there has been incidents like this before and I certainly would not like to be a victim of it either, pretty sure it goes the same for all content creators.

Totally agree with you. Posting more info below.

In reading the responses to my post, I admit that my post really did come across like I'm some kind of nigerian prince who just needs your help to transfer $1M out of nigeria and you can have 10% for helping... in the interests of moving the conversation towards something more productive. Here's info about me:

And here's info about the last company I sold:

Yes - please see my post on my background. I agree that I should've been more careful to explain myself yesterday.

Actually you come across as a guy who knows fuck-all about game development, business, or basic communication, especially for a guy who has supposedly sold two companies, and you don't come off as genuine at all. I also highly doubt a seasoned, high-powered business man would come to some random game related forum to look into hiring a "valve mod company."

I assumed that some of the best dev people for half life mods are here... I thought of posting here as going directly to the source.
This has to be some sort of joke. I guess this could be considered "going" directly to the source" but nobody does this.

I helped you gibe money pls

The fatal flaw here is that you're trying to make money off of Half-Life 2 mods.

Yeah tf2 and css didn't make any money, neither did E.Y.E
You need to be a Source engine licensee to be able to make money from a "mod", and by that point, it's really it's own game.

To make money of any kind from the Source engine, you need to actually license the engine. You can't just slap a price tag on a 'Valve mod'.
Many great games have been made over the internet.
CEO who can't spell
spelling =/= grammar
Buy a license if you want to make money
Making a game over the internet is a terrible experience, find employees in your local area.
uh no
me, brandonsh, and a couple of others have been working on a mod for over a year now and it's been fun as fuck

Been here since April yet you almost have 700 posts, and you have the nerve to call us all "autistic 13 year olds"?
Your 10 posts per day are practically screaming at you "oh shit nigger what are you doing"

On the one hand you're entirely correct.
On the other hand I hate you because you're a passive aggressive whiner with shitty opinions.
