I just recently re-installed GMod to show my friend, but when I go to launch it, it opens the launching window, closes the launching window, and nothing more happens.
I've tried rebooting, reinstalling, restarting steam, deleting clientregistry.blob, verifying integrity, and defragging it.
specs:
8600m GT
2gb ram
Intel core2 duo T7700 2.40GHz
Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit.
Any ideas? It used to work fine before I uninstalled all my steam games, and now it refuses to do anything.

Run some other Source game, See if it works after that.

Gmod requires a source game to be installed. Install hl2 and it will probably work, but you won't be able to use content from counter-strike properly.
Launched HL2 fine, launched GMod, same thing.
HL2.exe starts in the task manager, but ends under a second later.
