Is it possible to use dlc downloaded from GameStop with Mafia 2 on Steam? The reason I ask is because I have a gift card to GameStop.

And if you would've bothered to research you would have found the answer within 10 seconds. It clearly says on the Steam page that the DLC on Steam requires the base game on Steam as well.
Just remember. If the game is on Steam, the dlc has to be on Steam as well, unless the game has an ingame store. Such as Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 if I am not too wrong.
So to answer your question, no, it will not work.
But now that I check and remember that the game is Steam only for the PC, then it should work. I suppose you'll get a code to active the DLC on Steam. Which sort of defeats the purpose of my long post. However, in most cases it does apply. Arma 2 and it's DLC's are a good example.
Look on the back of the box, if it mentions steam then yes.
That's what I do.
