what video game do you thinks delivers the most realistic first person perspective? are there any games that take peripheral vision into account? are there any games that portray the slight amount of curvature you see at the edge of your vision? are there any games that even go as so far to show your eye lashes?
are you implying that you actually see your own eyelashes without a mirror obvious troll is obvious
are you implying that you actually see your own eyelashes without a mirror obvious troll is obvious
i'm not implying anything. i can see my eye lashes without the aid of a mirror, although it is blurry. i'm not a troll.
Dude, I think you're a troll.
Wait, you guys can't see your eyelashes? What the fuck? They're like sticking in my vision all the time unless I really open my eyes.
A super realistic FPS game like that would be annoying. I don't want my character to blink, I already do that.
You blink in Alone in the Dark
I don't want a realistic FPS game because I'll get shot and have to go to a army hospital for two months and never see combat again.
I don't want a realistic FPS game because I'll get shot and have to go to a army hospital for two months and never see combat again.
i'm not talking about the realistic first person shooters. i'm talking about the realistic first person perspectives. games that take into account human vision.
cod mw2 gayme of de yea lul
Arma2, possibly.
Mirror's Edge
Having effects like blinking and eyelashes wouldn't be realistic because you already have those 'effects' when you're looking at the screen.
are there any games that even go as so far to show your eye lashes?
No one wants this
Why'd you really want one? I'd rather just have what we have right now in games. [editline]07:41AM[/editline] you're not funny
You vexed?
A super realistic FPS game like that would be annoying. I don't want my character to blink, I already do that.
It's called Next-Gen, I think blinking can be done right, if for say I stare at a light for along time or if it's a horror game and I get hit in the head/eye and thus have part of my vision fade. What you people don't seem to realize is that with every generation we should be adding more depth to our games, but saying "no this is annoying lol" is just keeping it down. Of course certain games like BC2 should not have blinking but horror games or ones that simulate a realistic body/head/vision should. Or ones that are slower paced. I wish legs were more common in games, they really make me feel like I'm there, atleast do animations. FC2 was an all animation game, everything you did had an animations. BC2 there is no animation for planting or defusing, it's not a big deal but I feel that subtracts from the realism and reality of the game. A game to me is so much more when I can actually immerse my self into the reality and into the role of my persona or my self in the land the game portrays, I've spent so many hours in games like Oblivion, FC2 and F3 because they let me immerse my self. I don't see the point in not doing legs now, Frame-rate you say? Bullshit it's called optimization. Sure it's a huge big deal but it's a nice touch of immersion which I always aim for. It's not very hard either, a very simple way is to put the camera on the 3rd person model's eyes like ARMA or FPS GTA4 did. Another way is to render the playermodel such as Dark Messiah did, your whole body is rendered besides the head which is you the camera. Your way of thinking is what holds back the gaming industry from adding cool features, being daring and risking; the idea of advancement and that of making games into art.
Having effects like blinking and eyelashes wouldn't be realistic because you already have those 'effects' when you're looking at the screen.
Is it weird that I don't blink looking at screens?
Having effects like blinking and eyelashes wouldn't be realistic because you already have those 'effects' when you're looking at the screen.
Yes it would be, have your guy stare at the sun for awhile or a light for awhile. Why wouldn't he blink? Video-games are meant to simulate life, not life looking at it. Me blinking and my guy blinking are two different things and have a major impact on gameplay.
I want a game that uses a console which integrates itself into your nervous system and controls what you see and feel. So you would "literally" be in the game.
I want a game that uses a console which integrates itself into your nervous system and controls what you see and feel. Unless it was like a tingle where you where getting hit from, Then maybe, But if it hurt, Fuck that.
That's actually an interesting thread question. Hm. Not sure, I've never played a game and thought that the view from my guy looked any different from any other first person game but the view is kinda realistic in Metro 2033 when you have a gas mask on and it starts to depricate, and the vision goes all skewed. But yeah, basicaly, there arent really any games I can think of with a truly realistic first person view, but there are certain parts of games when you have things covering your head or blurring your vision which add a nice touch of realism and kinda suck you into the experience the same way it would if you had a game with a truly realistic first person view like you're after.
Is it weird that I don't blink looking at screens?
It would be if it was true. It isn't though.
That would be fucking horrible for business, No one would want to get shot. Unless it was like a tingle where you where getting hit from, Then maybe, But if it hurt, Fuck that.
Doesn't have to hurt, it can simply be pressure from the shot, gun shots give pressure you know? Not a bad pressure either, like take your hand and squeeze a finger, that light kind of pressure with a slightly harder pressure in the middle I think it would work fine, would feel realistic and not be painful.
Well ArmA 2 has a fairly good perspective ratio, and you can freely move your head independent of your body, the effect of which is awesomely apparent if you have one of dem IR track things.
Dark messiah and mirrors edge came to mind
Dark messiah and mirrors edge came to mind
though both have totally unrealistic mechanics they have the first person view pretty down. though actually oblivion is a little better as the helmet will actually effect your view
arma 2 with ace mod sometimes, if you're tired it'll try to make it look like you're tired
Halo, totally
though actually oblivion is a little better as the helmet will actually effect your view
Maybe i'm not understand what you said but oblivion doesn't have helmets in the view, but there are mods for it and morrowind to add them.
FPS's need real PAIN If you fucking get shot in the game, you should totally be electrocuted in real life. That would be so boss.
