I'm just wondering what you guys would/d do buy and play mostly, considering I'm trying to get into the business of game development, and so I present to you people a poll. I politely ask you people vote on your favorite genre, and post why you like it the most and what you like in it. Thank you.

Okay, well I voted for RPG. I voted for RPG because I find it fun to create a unique person and do stuff completely different then from how I do things in real life. I enjoy lots of different skills and big open worlds with lots of things you can do.
FPS.
Why? I feel relaxed when I kill people :smug:
That's fine, I really like just about any game I can lay my hands on. I find the biggest problem when I try to develop games though is how I have a hard time finding a good game engine.
I have a lot of fun in crazy FPSs(Serious Sam & co.), FPSRPGs(STALKER etc.) and standard RPGs as long as they're not Japanese.
I like to be able to control how my character develops in terms of skills.
So RPGs.
Yeah, RPGs are always fun, especially considering it's nice when you get your skills high and are able to own everybody. I love that most of all, and there is great satisfaction as well when you work hard on a quest and you finally get it done, no matter how small it is. I guess that's why zelda games are so popular. XP
Im obsessed with monster hunter tri at the moment, so RPG
RPGs. Customizing characters is awesome.

Agreed. But on what level of customization do you all like in RPGs, like for example, is it skills, like being able to move the quickest, or is it like on a storyline level, or perhaps just the way they look?
RPG, I even love when other genres include RPG elements, as long as they aren't an after thought.

True, true. Like Far Cry 2 where all you do RPG wise is choose a character?
