Namely, the Marvel side. Here's the thing: Marvel is no longer an independent company. It's owned by the megacorporation to end all megacorporations, Disney Co. This opens up huge opportunities for expanded crossovers.
Obviously, I'm not talking the main Disney lineup, which should stay in Kingdom Hearts, where it actually fits. No, I'm talking about the other things owned by the Mouse.
Here's an example: ABC Studios. They have several popular shows, but only one that is liked by nerds: Lost. It could even be plausible in the Marvel universe, given how insane that show is.
Here's another one. I don't know for sure who owns the assets, but it's possible that it's owned by Touchstone Pictures, subsidiary of Disney: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy film. Maybe not the best characters for a fighting game, but still, could be cool.
That's not all. Pulp Fiction? They've got it, via Miramax Films. Same for Kill Bill. Those would work well. Hell, they would be awesome.
Obviously, much of their stuff would just not work. None of the Disney animated movies or TV shows, for instance. Pixar works wouldn't fit. Subsidiaries like Lifetime or ESPN wouldn't. And if they try to shove any of their "musicians" into it, I will personally slaughter everyone who approved the idea.
Right now you're probably thinking I'm crazy. However, there's some precedent for something like this. Had you told me ten years ago that Kingdom Hearts would exist, I would have thought you were crazy. The family-friendly-at-all-costs Disney, home to such edgy characters as Winnie the Pooh and countless helpless princesses, mixed with the people who made Kefka Palazzo, Kain Highwind and freaking Sephiroth? Somehow, it worked. Likewise, you could make my idea work.
I'm not saying to just throw everyone in. On the contrary, the developers need to look closely at everything in both companies' list, to find the odd little things that could make the game shine. Capcom has some games that would work well if they weren't so obscure. Anything Clover studios made, for instance. Killer 7. PN 03. Dino Crisis. Ghosts 'n Goblins. I think that the hyper-obscure character Blade, from the video-game adaptation of the live-action movie based on the video game, Street Fighter, would work well.
Maybe this stuff would just crowd out other, better characters from the main Marvel/Capcom lineup. I mean, the game's going to be an epic crossover anyways. You can't go wrong when you can have Iron Man and Chris Redfield face off. [As an aside, Resident Evil vs. Marvel Zombies]
Maybe they're already planning this, and want it to be a surprise. There's what, six characters confirmed?
Maybe I'm just a ranting guy with a lack of sleep. I mean, it goes without saying that this is going to be a great game, no matter who they put in. I'm just saying that they should look deeper into what IP they can tap into.
I don't really care, Get venom in and some RE chars and i'm in
It's Marvel vs Capcom not Disney Corp. vs Capcom.
A. It's marvel vs capcom while disney have merged with marvel they're not marvel
B. There's only been one trailer you can't start making assumptions now
Hurley vs Hulk.
I think the Capcom side is missing some cool shit.
Namely, Harman Smith and his 7 Personas.
Albert Wesker
Ada Wong
And Capcom should Publish No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise just to use Travis Touchdown
Give me Venom, but most of all, Wesker.
We are Venom :ninja:
I want the venom in MvC2 because he's supposed to be buff, people complaining that he needs to be slimmer, if you want a slim venom go with carnage.

Disney bought Marvel.
Disney bought Marvel.
So?
This thread is stupid.
Disney bought Marvel.
Doesn't matter, Marvel is Marvel, Disney is Disney, you don't see all the new Kingdom Hearts games having Wolverine or Spiderman as one of the characters do you?
Doesn't matter, Marvel is Marvel, Disney is Disney, you don't see all the new Kingdom Hearts games having Wolverine or Spiderman as one of the characters do you?
No but they did unfortunately try to shoehorn Pirates of the Caribbean in there. Give it time...
Into Kingdom Hearts? That is because Pirates of the Carribean is Disney.
Disney bought Marvel.
You didn't even read the 4th post. Why are you even posting?!
Albert Wesker will be a series of:
COBRA STRIKE!
PANTHER RING!
GHOST BUTTERFLY!
AKA: The Captain Falcon of MvC
Marvel vs Capcom 3 - Just when you thought we couldn't make another incredibly unbalanced fighting game.
There you go with the stupid opinions again, why you so good at it?
There you go with the stupid opinions again, why you so good at it?
Huh, that's strange, that's exactly what i think of everysingle fan of the Marvel vs Capcom series...
You think of MvC fans as "There you go with the stupid opinions again."
What.
No but they did unfortunately try to shoehorn Pirates of the Caribbean in there. Give it time...
Because Pirates of the Caribbean is made by Disney.
Because Pirates of the Caribbean is made by Disney.
Yes I know they made it and it didn't really fit in with the theme. I'm saying give them time, they'll start throwing in other stuff they own. I understand the difference between them having made it and simply owning the rights but I almost don't expect that to stop them.
When I think of Disney I think of their classic animated movies and their rides. PotC definetly fits. Was a boring level though.

No I think that's pretty much what anyone who's been unfortunate enough to be in the same thread as you says
I know! Right? Like what is with him?!
Haven't played a Marvel v Capcom before but this looks damn fun.
Edit: This was a reply to the other MVC thread, I'm retarded, hurf durf derp akerp.

Like, as happy as some people may have been when they heard World War II was over.

"AH! FOUND YOU!"
Incidentally, that was a really cool co-op boss fight, I thought.
Silly though.
Silly though.
Yep.
So was the entirety of Resident Evil 5, however.
-Punching boulders
-The entire last boss fight(s)
-Zombies with guns
-Martial arts do more damage than most bullets
Enjoyable though.
But, anyway, this is severely off-topic.
