Have you ever cared about those "Limited/Holiday edition" items.

I'm aiming this question at all MMO players. Cause the thing is, I always find myself collecting them for no reason at all. Even when I cant sell it or the item might have garbage stats, but its cool to wear.
Here's where I struggle with this idea, is where whether I want to look cool, or move on to an item that you can actually use, overpowering that limited/holiday item.
i totally go for the limited edition items. even if they are super crummy. i collect these things so i can say, "i was there for the <event> update. were you?"
i love the holiday updates because they are usually cooler than anything else and it feels good you got these super rare awesome items
The only game I've done this in is Guild Wars where I'll reinstall just to get the holiday hats and check to see if I have any new birthday presents.
Limited edition yes, they're usually great
Holiday no, they do almost nothing, and usually look shit
Usually not, but if they are simple to get and im in the area, i will.
I usually go for them ingame, but if it's something like buying a collectors/more expensive version of the game i don't usually bother.
If it's something that is going to be available again/next year i probably won't bother, but if it's the only chance to get it and i can do it i will.
Sometimes, but I'm not usually too eager about it. Guild Wars had an event a few years back where you could trade candy canes dropped by enemies for event items, and everybody was jumping all over it. Instead of going for the nice, but essentially worthless items, I grinded for Candy Canes and sold 'em for big bucks.
If it's free and easy-medium to get, then I need to have it.
If it's hard to get, it depends on if it's good.
If it's pay for, then hell no.
