it'll be monthly I think. I'm not sure if they have a payment plan down but once they do I'm guessing it'll either be retail with no monthly (Guild Wars) or retail with monthly (WoW).
Or they could be badass and have a free download with a monthly like EVE. All I know is that this will not be free with microtransactions or free in any way.

I think it's based on the start, as it seems this is the first battle between the Jedi and Sith that sparked the war.
FYI: That isn't Malak.
It doesn't look like him, apart from the facemask.
and besides, Malak didn't ever attack corosant.
