Sounds just aren't working anymore. Press F1, press DEL, no sound comes up.
I'm not sure how much more information I can give, can anybody work with this?
Try to DL an older version. See the settings if you have the audio start key binded right.

My HLSS broke somehow, so I tried HLDJ.
I'm not too fond of it. I'd rather just push a button to select the song I want instead of searching around for it on the console.
Plus the fact that you can't start it after you started the game itself kinda ruins it for me.
Did you press the activate button in HLSS?
Did you make sure your autoexec executed?
Got it set to the right game directory? should be \steamapps\<username>\team fortress 2\ (or any other game)
Does the sound file show 0kb? If so, the sound file is corrupt/inaccessable/unreadable
