These games are not for people who give up easily, they are hard and require a lot of thinking. Slavehack Homepage: http://www.slavehack.com/ Description: Game I don't like. It's online. Have fun. Uplink Homepage: http://www.introversion.co.uk/uplink/ Description: You play an Uplink Agent who makes a living by performing jobs for major corporations. Your tasks involve hacking into rival computer systems, stealing research data, sabotaging other companies, laundering money, erasing evidence, or framing innocent people. You use the money you earn to upgrade your computer systems, and to buy new software and tools. As your experience level increases you find more dangerous and profitable missions become available. You can speculate on a fully working stock market (and even influence its outcome). You can modify peoples academic or criminal records. You can divert money from bank transfers into your own accounts. You can even take part in the construction of the most deadly computer virus ever designed. Other: From my experience, this one is a lot tougher than the other ones, Hacker Evolution and RVL Hacker. When a chain of events sets off worldwide, leaving critical service disabled, you assume the role a computer hacker to find out what happened and attempt to stop it. When a stock market, a central bank, satellite uplink and transoceanic fiber optics links crash, you know this is more then a simple event. Something big is behind all this, and you have to figure out what is it. You hack into computers, look for exploits and information, steal money to buy hardware upgrades in an attempt to put all the pieces of a big puzzle, together. Other: This one is pretty tough too, but lots of fun aswell. A large number of computers from all over the world were victims of the attack, which lasted for a few hours. After the incident the entire internet infrastructure was left in a disturbed state and many security systems were overloaded with data traffic. Use your intelligence to stop another catastrophic attack over the Net. Alex D. is a programmer that works at a software company during the day, and during the night he is testing software vulnerability on various companies’ servers. During one night he is attacking a cover up firm for NSA operations and gets caught. In exchange of his freedom Alex D. accepts to fulfill secret missions for the NSA. The concept behind RVL Hacker is to create a game that challenges the gamer's intelligence, attention and focus, creating a captivating mind game. Solve puzzles, examine code and bits of information, to help you achieve your objectives. The puzzles themselves are very well designed. There are little clues scattered around each of the servers that can unlock new servers you don’t necessarily need to win, but they provide an alternate way of getting your required information. You need to find a good balance between the trace increases you’ll get from cracking these options servers, though, as accessing that new server might not be worth the amount of money you’ll need to spend to decrease your trace level back down to reasonable levels. You use the money you earn to upgrade your computer systems. Other: It's a mod for Hacker Evolution, very well designed, and tough to beat. I love Uplink. I downloaded and installed RVL Hacker yesterday, but I haven't bothered to play it as of yet.
Also guys, I am going to be a adding a lot more, this is just for right now.
It gets hard
I own Uplink on steam but never played it, maybe I'll bother to now...
I hate how when you get caught in Uplink you have to restart. You can get a self-destruct button and a motion detector but you have to watch the detector and hit the self-destruct yourself.
There should be a sandbox hacking simulator. You can steal all the money from randomly generated servers in the world, or just upload viruses. Be a vigilante and destroy blackhats, whatever. Servers go up and down randomly each day. But a man can only dream...

Then go into one of thems console and type: cd usr delete cd log delete cd sys shutdown. I played RVL and didn't actually like it that much, I'll try Hacker Evolution. And OP add http://www.slavehack.com/, browser based hacking sim.
I have RVL hacker uploaded from the giveaway, if you don't mind me posting it, imperial.
Slavehack.
Oh you bastard! :argh:
It gets hard
Umm.. yeah...
Well I had an account on slavehack, was ok wasn't great, I made 8BitLord on it if anyone has a way to hookup and hack a few guys.
I have RVL hacker uploaded from the giveaway, if you don't mind me posting it, imperial.
They've deactivated the installer. Unless you have the installed version.
FFS, some idiot logged into 1.1.1.1 and didn't wipe the log, I got his IP and I am now DLing his antivirus, then sending like 10 viruses to him.
I have Uplink on disk, I bought it years ago but never really got into it. I'll give it another try soon.

I'd add the Ultimate Uplink Guide to the Uplink description. http://guide.modlink.net/
Uplink was great. After you do your first bank mission it's way too easy though. I've got RVL Hacker installed but haven't played it yet.
I just tried it, not that good, I'll stick with slavehack, multiplayer too :3:
Slavehack is good until someone DDoS' you and deletes all your crap. Then it becomes shit.
Slavehack is good until someone DDoS' you and deletes all your crap. Then it becomes shit.
I keep secret, I am good about it, never got caught.
Uplink is the best hacking game imo but pretty short, there is only one main mission branch that takes you into 5 missions, then the game is done

Is there a slavehack guide somewhere to get me into the game?
The Onlink mod for Uplink has been developed for nearly years now, but it's just about to be done and it will be fucking awesome.
Is there a slavehack guide somewhere to get me into the game?
Go on the forums and look for manuals, good stuff.
I would have expected there to be flash games like this, saying most of it is throwing around variables.
Heh someguy forgot to clear the log and I took his programs. Fuck yeah
A few FPers have had their accounts slaverized by me :smug:
