The basic concept of Lose/Lose is that for every enemy you kill, the game will delete a random file or folder on your hard drive. There is no distinction between what can and cannot be deleted; system files are fair game. If you lose, the game deletes itself. All the enemies are procedurally generated based on the file type and size of the files they represent.
The website preaches some philosophical bullshit about the immorality of video games or something.
By way of exploring what it means to kill in a video-game, Lose/Lose broaches bigger questions. As technology grows, our understanding of it diminishes, yet, at the same time, it becomes increasingly important in our lives. At what point does our virtual data become as important to us as physical possessions? If we have reached that point already, what real objects do we value less than our data? What implications does trusting something so important to something we understand so poorly have?
The only 2 practical uses I can see for this game are a) a horrible joke on a friend and b) a fun way to delete a partition.
The current high score is 4912 files deleted.
did they just compare deleting files to killing people or did I read something wrong
Third thread on this. The last two got closed.

I should just take a shitty laptop that barely runs and play this game, to put it out of it's misery.
Right Click -> Run Sandboxed
Put a shitload of random text files in there
also hi whazat
Deleting files now is considered murder, says the site.
What the fuck were they on when they made this game?
It's a Mac only game. Interpret this as you wish.

Bollocks.
did they just compare deleting files to killing people or did I read something wrong
No, you read something wrong. They did not compare anything, but they used deleting files as a metaphor for the untold and random destruction violence can cause.
I played this for like 2 minutes before I realized what it was really doing.
