Want to know why? Firstly, they made Empires. I was very hyped, but when I got it, its full of bugs, and now, they are making napoleon total war, which is pretty much Empires! They made another game without bothering to fix the damn bugs in Empires! Anyone feel the same way as I do?

CA released a patch the other day that improved the AI, improved AI diplomacy, fixed several glitches, added two new Historical Battles, and a new 4 vs. 4 map. CA has indeed fixed the game now.

But there are still crapload of bugs.

it's true
at first when i played ETW i thought it was pretty cool and good.
then i played RTW again and thought this is awesome
then i played M2:TW again and thought this is perfect..
ETW is just not as good as the others but it is not awful and doesn't really feel like a TW game
From what I have gathered, Napoleon Total War will be to Empire TW as UT2004 was to UT2003.
It seems strange for them to release both a standalone expansion and a normal expansion at roughly the same time and so soon after launch. However, I do not follow the L4D2 Boycott mentality and see it as a nice new ton of content.
I am however not pleased with the multiplayer, at release I could join roughly 20% of all games, now I can join none at all. I get "No response from host" every single time since a patch a while ago.
I just want a Shogun 2: Total War.

That's because they p. much totally reinvent the series every couple of games. Shogun and Medieval were very similar in mechanical terms, then you have Rome and Medieval II which were pretty much the same too. Now we have a new revolution in Empire, of course it's going to seem different. I'm sure people said Rome didn't feel like a Total War game when it first came out too.
There was already a thread bitching about the same subject.

You must not have played the TW series.
The game hasn't even been out for year yet sheesh. Don't expect N:TW to be something completely different. It's an expansion not a full-fledge game.

it's been out for a while now
it sucks because almost all of the troops look exactly the same and all you do is line up your guys, and have them shoot at eachother
Thats what they did back then.
