I only buy games that I know are good. So overall a year I'd say I buy 3-4 new games a year. Sometimes I buy used games if they're worth it. The only time I've bought 2 games in the same month was Metro 2033 and BFBC2.
I end up buying one major game and then a few indie ones. Bringing me to about 3.

Really though, I haven't played any newer games in a while, there's just nothing new that I feel the need to buy and/or play. I played RA3 actually. Nice to see that EA lived up to their title and completely ruined the series after booting the original development team.

It just depends. Some times I see cool deals and I buy them, especially if its a game I've been looking at. May alone I've already bought four, but that only cost me 10 bucks.
Anyone who buys 5 or more games a month deserves a shovel in the face. For 1, there aren't even enough buy-worthy games out there. I'd rather not play the majority of them, specially since most are owned by EA.

I never buy $60 games usually. Mass Effect was the last one.
But I take advantage of Steam deals a lot. So, like 2-3. I bought GTA IV and two things of GTA Classics.
And I'm thinking of getting Amnesia and Civ IV tomorrow. Then I'll be done for quite a while.
