The latest issue of Nintendo Power contains a very special article on Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?! that finally gives us an idea of what the final product will actually look like. The preview also reveals some of the game’s first gameplay details, noting that the perspective will switch much like what we saw in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
Matt Bozon, designer for Wayforward, said the team drew inspiration from Zelda II, which translated into top-view areas that focus on quests and exploration and side view segments that combine platforming and combat. The team reportedly considered making Adventure Time a brawler or a puzzle platformer, but decided those genres didn’t stay true to the animated series.
Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?! is an action-adventure title for the Nintendo DS and 3DS, scheduled to debut sometime this fall. From what we’ve seen so far, this may be one of the best game adaptations of a TV show yet! Okay, we can probably count the number TV show game adaptations on one hand, but that shouldn’t undermine how excited we are for this title.
Seeing how that article got posted only recently, I decided to make a thread for it. There wasn't much known about it before the article highlighted the other one, only us being told that it's being developed by WayForward Technologies, who make some good stuff.
I personally am looking forward to this game quite a bit. I'm not a massively big fan of the show, but I watch it if it's on or easily available. The sprite artwork looks really good, and the whole overworld-to-platformingworld mechanic from Adventure of Link (which wasn't that bad) seems like it will work really well. The only disappointment I can see is just the stupid-ass title. But that's about it. Maybe the lack of gameplay videos, but I can look past that.
I'm a big fan of the show, but I am a little skeptical of this. I will keep my eye on it, but only time will tell how this turns out.
I hope the developers don't have poobrain
I don't think the title is bad at all. It's not the best title, but not bad.
Can't say I'm that surprised it got a game.
The Zelda II aspect is kinda interesting tho.
Hopefully it won't be a shitty game. Most games based off shows or movies are shit.

Knowing the AT crew, I doubt they'd let a game based on their show be bad.
Adventure Time game?
That's algebraic!
Bump with trailer and reports on Collectors Edition.

Collectors Edition (if it exists) comes with :
Custom stylus shaped like Finn's sword
Land of Ooo poster
Steelbook packaging made to look like the Enchiridion (the handbook Finn is always lugging around)
An art book
Honestly this game has great MMO potential. Content wise that is. It doesn't have a set lore and it is an ongoing TV series so you can have it being constantly updated with new monsters and quests based off of the actual TV show.
