Star Wars: Republic Commando - Games

My internet keeps dying, so I thought instead of a playing half a game on CoD 4 or Halo: Reach I thought I'd dig out an original Xbox game to play. The one I chose was Star Wars: Republic Commando and I completely forgot how amazing it was! The only things that ruin it for me is the quite major frame rate drops and the terrible sound. I love the way it feels like you are an actual solider, with the fact it uses the inside of your helmet as the HUD and that it shakes if a grenade blows up next to you, or gets covered in blood when you stab a Geonosian, their blood splatters over your screen. The game was the shit, no seriously. The game mechanics were so flawless. The squad-based gameplay worked like a charm. Giving orders was so intuitive and the fighting was awesome. The interface was cool, the helmet had a nice design. The melee attack was also very nice. They had a lot of great ideas in this game. The missions were also fucking badass.

I want a sequel.

I remember one super battle droid taking like 10000 shots from your basic rifle.

The game was great fun, except for the fact that you had to empty 10 clips into a single droid.

If you want a sequel, read the books in the mean time, they really are excellent, and I usually despise Star Wars books. It is based on Omega squad, but has frequent appearances of Delta Squad. Unfortunately the Author was unable to resolve Sev's predicament, due to the games dev owning the rights of that part of the story. I loved the game, played it through at least 3 times, got owned lots at Multi player.

Just reinstalled it and I'm stuck. The game is fucking hard on the highest difficulty. I'm now in the droid ship in which you have to steal the starting codes. It's really hard. [editline]06:48PM[/editline] Yeah, the default rifle is weak as shit. Two battle droids can rape you instantly when you're alone.

I also love how the helmet in this game is actually there. Like things would splatter on it and shit. This game was so cash.

This game is underrated as hell. One of my favorite fps games. In my opinion, it's better than the halo series. I regret I didn't get to play this game when it came out. I'd love to play it though.

As for normal droids, i found it really satisfying decapitating them, getting oil on the visor, and watching 'em walk and shoot with no head for a while :v:

One of the few squad based games where your partners could help [b]you[/b] up. This game was fantastic, i'm kind of disappointed I only rented it, now I can't play it again. :saddowns:

Game needs a sequel. Lucasarts needs to get off their asses and make good games again.

Nope, we get cgi clone wars games and force unleashed games with the most interesting main character ever.

This game was a freaking ton of fun to play.

I remember in the mission on the Droid Ship (I forget the Obj) I set off a alarm or something. Thousands of droids rushed me and my squad. We got trapped in a one door room, and just fought and fought until we killed every last one of them.

I loved this game, although SBD container pods were hard as hell to blow up. Knife spamming ftw.
