• Are You A Video Game Hoarder?

I have a whole shelf just dedicated to my game collection. Looking through them all I realise there is no sense in having this many games in my collection, many of my games I never play, I just keep around encase "I might want to play them later". In retrospect I have about 50-60 games laying around, a large majority being windows PC games. I wonder if I am going overboard in holding onto all these games, does this make me a video game hoarder. So facepunch, do you think you are a video game hoarder? Is your collection a bonanza of games?
I have over 20 Xbox games and I haven't used my Xbox in months. Should probably throw them up on eBay while they're worth something.
Well, I hoard them on my computer. I have tons of games installed, a lot of which I haven't played in over a year and don't plan to play anytime soon. But I won't uninstall them because I think I might play them soon. I only have 20 gigs of space left. :saddowns: I suppose I hoard the retail copies too, I keep all my games no matter what and never get rid of them.
I have about 50 games I haven't touched since the day I bought them. Everytime I get bored I just fall back on TF2. (Which I am very tired of :silent:)
I have a copy of Half-Life 2 on xbox and I don't even own an xbox, I also have around 10 PS2 games and I haven't had a PS2 controller for over 2 years.
It isn't a bad thing to keep your games, eventually you might sell them, the wait will make them worth more and in the meantime you can still play them if you so choose.
I bought a lot of games on Steam during Black Friday and the Christmas sales, haven't played or barely played most of them. I blame TF2.

I buy them when they go on sale. I'll get around to playing them eventually...
I bought another hard drive dedicated to having all of my Steam games on it since I install nearly all of them but hardly ever play more than three games. :saddowns: Now my new 1 Terabyte hard drive is already three quarters full... [editline]5th January 2011[/editline] Oh and I suppose that I have a huge closet full of games from the 1998-2004 range which I am never going to install and play.
I'd say I have at least 10 games on steam that I've never even installed :buddy: It's hardly hoarding if they're digital though, right?
I don't understand people who sell their games really. I must have about 80 physical non-single-use PC games and god knows how many PS1/PS2 ones either stacked on my desk, in shelves, in racks or somewhere in the attic at my Dad's house. I even have about 40 PS2 demo disks, about 20 PS1 ones and as many PC ones. I used to have demo CDs from the late 90s and everything but they were mistaken for rubbish years ago. And of 162 Steam games I've probably not played about 15 because they're godawful pack-padding.
I like how people call their tons of video games they don't play "their collection". A collection consists of things that are valuable or will become valuable over time but other than that it's just plain hoarding.

The actual dictionary definition of Collection is "several things grouped together or considered as a whole"
Yes I am. I have way over 130+ games.
What the fuck why would you have over 100 games.
What the fuck why would you have over 100 games.
I keep thinking to myself that I will play them later, you know, for the nostalgia. I never do, but it's always good to know they are there.
no, dont sell your games, you might play em later. The resale value for games is so low it makes the roller blades look good again
I never sell my games, or systems. I still have my nintendo 64, and I play it from time to time... pure nostalgia bliss.
I keep thinking to myself that I will play them later, you know, for the nostalgia. I never do, but it's always good to know they are there.
I see. Well, I have my 15-ish well played games that I'm happy with, along with another 34 Xbox games that I sold after my second xbox broke. Fucking piece of shit.
176 STEAM games. ~12 Xbox 360 games ~18 Xbox (original) games ~10 PS2/1 games ~30 Nintendo 64 games ~50 SNES games In short, yes.
Im a collector edition hoarder and a steam hoarder so ya
~50 SNES games .
I envy you. Yeah I do have quite a bit
I used to be an awful Steam hoarder. I realized a change was needed when I had less than 10 GB left on a 500GB hdd. (I was also a picture and video hoarder) Now I'm much better, but looking at my Steam list has made me realize it may be time for another purge.
I never sell my games.
4 years ago I sold my SNES+ all the games I had... Now I'm sad :frown:
Not really, aside from me buying everything from steam and thus not physically being able to hoard, in terms of keeping them installed I usually know when I'm not going to play a game for quite a white, if ever again, and am usually good with uninstalling them.

If Steam games count as "hoarding", then yes. It's become an addiction...
Half the indie titles i have on steam. never touched. And as far as IRL hoarding, I have 300+ xbox ps2 and pc games stacked next to their appropriate consoles etc. Because I MIGHT PLAY THEM!
my PS2 collection is bigger than me
