The game is set around year 1700 and more. A lot larger Campaign map has been announced, crossing North America, Europe, Africa and Asia (Perhaps Australia too?). So the factions that have been announced on the website are: *France *Sweden *The Ottoman Empire *Great Britain *"United Provinces" *Russia *Spain *Prussia *Poland-Lithuania *Austria *Marathas *USA READ MORE ABOUT THE FACTIONS HERE http://www.totalwar.com/empire/gameinfo/factions.php Random info :
Command the seas, control the land, forge a new nation, and conquer the globe. Empire: Total War takes the Total War franchise to the eighteenth century Age of Enlightenment -- a time of political upheaval, military advancements, and radical thought, captured in stunning detail in Empire: Total War. Empire: Total War introduces a host of revolutionary new features, including true 3D naval combat. For the first time in the Total War series, you will be able to intuitively command single ships or vast fleets upon seascapes rich with extraordinary water and weather effects that play a huge role in your eventual glorious success or ignominious defeat. After pummelling your enemy with cannon fire, close in to grapple their ship and prepare to board, taking control of your men as they fight hand-to-hand on the decks of these wooden behemoths. In addition, Empire: Total War will see further enhancements to the Total War series’ signature 3D battles and turn-based campaign map. Real-time battles will pose new challenges with the addition of cannon and musket, challenging players to master new formations and tactics as a result of the increasing role of gunpowder within warfare. And the Campaign Map -- for many, the heart of Total War -- introduces a variety of new and upgraded elements, including new systems for Trade, Diplomacy and Espionage with agents; a refined and streamlined UI; improved Advisors; and a vastly extended scope, taking in the riches of India, the turbulence of Europe and, for the first time, the untapped potential of the United States of America.
Features: *Take command on the high seas. New real-time 3D naval warfare takes Total War's unparalleled battle action to the high seas, with players commanding single ships or vast fleets. *Become a founding father. Supposedly, the game is going to start around 1700, and RUMORS says it will end sometime before WWI. The goddamn demo is out, go on steam to get it, and if you don't got steam just search for "empire total war demo" or something!!! THE GAME IS RELEASED! Go buy it! Hamachi server: The name is "Facepunch Total War" The password is "assaye" (I don't know much about hamachi so don't hate me if I forgot to mention anything as it's not my server)
Oh yeah! Finally a total war game where you can be Sweden :D
Sweden
Oh yeah! Finally a total war game where you can be Sweden :D
You could pretty much play norse factions :P
I can't wait for this. Anyone know a more specific release area? (As in Spring/Summer/Etc)
I heard they put in ragdoll :D
I heard they put in ragdoll :D
Doubt it, either way you need a extremely good computer to handle it, they should atleast add a button that turns it off.
Raargh. I love the series, hate the time period.
Raargh. I love the series, hate the time period.
Why?
Why?
Line/naval battles probably aren't going to be as fun as thousands of men rushing into each other with cold steel in their hands.
United province, fuck yeah. Also, line battles ARE thousands of men rushing into each other with cold steel in their hands. There's still royal halberteers and the end of a line battle is a melee fight. Too bad they didn't put in japan for historical accuracy.
Why?
I'm not too fond of the Imperial period. It's either medieval weapons, no guns, or proper modern guns for me.
Personally, this game doesn't appeal to me. When the Creative Assembly turned to the community to see what they wanted the next total war to be (I lurk the Total War forums a lot), mass amounts of people wanted a total war game set in the Imperial period. Many fans just wanted to play as America and kick the British in the ass. This is exactly why I think this game is being made, to cash in on the people who want to play as America. That's just my opinion though...
Line/naval battles probably aren't going to be as fun as thousands of men rushing into each other with cold steel in their hands.
:sigh: What with the line of smoke that comes when everybody is shooting and then they charge with their bayonets and swords, and they have halberdies :downs:
:sigh: What with the line of smoke that comes when everybody is shooting and then they charge with their bayonets and swords, and they have halberdies :downs:
It's not the same.
I love these games. Playing Medieval 2 Total War is so much fun, hope this one is the same thing! :holy: Can anyone tell me if Portugal is in the game?
It's not the same.
Don't go to this thread, or don't buy it. It's that simple, i bet it's going too own. Edit:
I love these games. Playing Medieval 2 Total War is so much fun, hope this one is the same thing! :holy: Can anyone tell me if Portugal is in the game?
Ofcourse they are.
i hope the system requirments are not high
i hope the system requirments are not high
If you can run medieval war 2 you can run this.
I love these games. Playing Medieval 2 Total War is so much fun, hope this one is the same thing! :holy: Can anyone tell me if Portugal is in the game?
I bet they are in, but not as a starter/playable faction.
I bet they are in, but not as a starter/playable faction.
I can play them in medieval 2.
I can play them in medieval 2.
I thought he meant Empires Total War Edit: Here's a good mod you could enjoy meanwhile we're waiting for Empire: Total war. http://files.filefront.com/The+Long+Road+Setupexe/;7637886;/fileinfo.html
Don't go to this thread, or don't buy it. It's that simple, i bet it's going too own.
But I am going to buy it, and I'm sure that it will be decent enough (in its own rights) to have the Total War title.
But I am going to buy it, and I'm sure that it will be decent enough (in its own rights) to have the Total War title.
Yup.
Line/naval battles probably aren't going to be as fun as thousands of men rushing into each other with cold steel in their hands.
Go play Cossacks 2 and then tell me that line battles are no fun.
:excited::excited::excited: Naval Battles :excited::excited::excited:
I can't wait for this game. The Total War series has put itself as one of the best RTS series ever, in my mind.
i hope the system requirments are not high
They will be higher than Medieval. Medieval is built off the engine Rome used. Empire is using a new engine. Also this looks great. Too bad you didn't put a bit more work into the thread though. Edit: - Slavery appears, but it's not something you can actively get involved in. :(
Yeah they will be higher. But running a game on low isn't the worst thing in the world.
Caribbean and African colonies? So called it.
