Snow in Uncharted 2.
In 24 Hours of Lemans (or some shit), your view would accumulate little flecks of rubber from the other vehicles on the track and your engine note would change. :awesome:
Being able to view your whole body from a first person perspective. Multiple games got that if I'm correct.
I always enjoy when games show very very subtle flashes to their history, or in cases like epic mickey, mickey junk mountain was a wonderful excuse to hide a series entire history in the form of a level.
Also Just Cause 2 again
The fact that you can go everywhere what you see.
(Most times the mountains you see further are just skybox and inaccessible)
Ability to cut trees in Crysis. Every game needs it.
Different walking sounds for different surfaces, like rustling grass or clanking when you walk on metal.
Oh, and when feet adjust to stairs so that they're not just floating in mid air.
The sound difference when you reload a gun inside of a house in Bad Company 2.

Rated you agree. The sound design in BC2 is great overall, imo.
I enjoy pressing buttons in games that actually do something. Not storyline related though.

I remember in one of the Delta Force games, I used to shoot down top of trees just for fun :v:
I love little interactions and responses the AI has with other NPCs or with the player.
I loved how there was not one loading time when playing Uncharted games. In this generation in video games, I expected all games to be like this.
Visible inventory & visible weapon mods.
I absolutely love assassin's creed brotherhood and, in general thanks to the wonderful crowd reactions to you, hearing people call you out for being nuts for climbing everywhere and the subtle sidesteps to avoid you and such, stumbling about etc is always nice

I honestly think BC2 would be half the game it is without its sound design. It just adds to the whole atmosphere, the sounds make it seem like scary modern warfare, particularly on hardcore mode. I love it.

Well, almost the whole sound engine is great, for example when a helicopter flyes over your head. You would really recieve the doppler effect.(high tone when coming toward you, and suddenly starts getting lower fastly after it passed you)
Lots of little things in Jurassic Park: Trespasser.
This game needs sequel.
Kinda fun/medium, but I love to take the secret B2 Bomber or w/e it's called. And crashing it while on top of it at a oil rig in just cause 2.

"I really enjoy World of Tanks because awesome stuff happens."
Dynamic phasing and secret places with no purpose other than comedic relief (Serious Sam )

I thought the oil platforms exploded like Mercenaries 2

How snow accumulates in Just Cause 2
When you fire a gun ontop of a truck in PR, the casings make noises like falling onto tin.
I enjoyed the fire in Far Cry 2.
Like said, seeing yourself in First Person. M&B doesn't use separate models ( like View models and World models ), so what you see is what others see, and it's great.
The holes for metal in Half Life 2 and above. Where it overlaps when hit in the same spot to give an effect that still looks great today.
pretty water effects
Especially Crysis

The way dinosaurs move and fight with eachother, how the creators got rid of hud (the health is shown on that girls boobs :pervert:, she also says how much ammo is left), it's amazing.
The pretty water in Bioshock.
Dynamic AI that fights with each other.
