• Any way to adjust Saints Row 2 graphics more effectively?

In SR2, being a predominantly console game, the only options you can change are things like AA and lighitng, but not texture or model quality. I'm playing with a shitty integrated GPU atm and want to know if there is any way to configure it more extensively to give me better peforamce? Thanks.
The game itself is a shite port, even good PCs struggle with it. Also I presume you got it for £3.75 on the 75% off offer? :banjo: To get performance lower your resolution. Thats what I did to go from unplayable to fairly OK.
The unofficial patch also works wonders. http://www.filefront.com/13476342/Saints-Row-2-Patch/
WOuld that patch work on the steam version and NOT fuck up my save?

Not sure since I didn't got the Steam version, but to be on the safe side, backup your patch.vpp_pc, shaders_pc and SR2_pc.exe since these are the files it replaces.
Works fine with steam and does improve preformance. (I just tried it)
Turn AA off and V-Sync off. Then cranck your graphics up to the top. For me, it runned smooth as anything.

I've been playing this all day, while grunting to myself about how shit it runs, even though it doesn't have that good of graphics. Thanks! Edit: Holy shit this works wonderfully. What does the patch do anyway?
The unofficial patch works pretty well, it still lags like a bitch when I drive though
The unofficial patch works pretty well, it still lags like a bitch when I drive though
Driving sucks period in this game. Tap A or D and you'll turn like 45 degreess...
Patch doesn't really do much for me, or I'm doing it wrong. Game still gives me a fit when I'm driving or when I turn dynamic lighting on.
Unofficial patch didn't do anything for me. :saddowns: [editline]10:23PM[/editline] And it took away 16:9 resolutions.

I like how it lagged much more than GTA IV did.
I thought sr2 was steam only
Haha, I think it is. Also, if I install the unofficial patch, will my coop friend also have to install it to be able to join my server?
If you have enough RAM you can turn page filing off which gets rid of the locking up apparently
The patch got rid of the widescreen resolutions for me.
I got it on sale, amazing PC only getting 25fps on max :saddowns: patch time
If you have enough RAM you can turn page filing off which gets rid of the locking up apparently
How do you do that? Cos it's only my GPU that's the problem, I have a great CPU and AM.
