I know this is old news, but I'm really confused here.
I am currently running Windows 7 x64 but whenever I run Half-Life 2 from Steam, it still displays in task manager that the game is running in x86 or 32-bit mode. I have an Intel 64-bit processor, and my question is, how do I make it so that it runs with a 64-bit client?
Thanks in advance
try -64bit in the launch options. I don't know you would want to run it in 64-bit though.
For some reason in 64 bit systems my HL2 always starts as 64 bit but then the AI doesn't work D:
64bit version works only on XP64 I think. I had XP64 and It automatically downloaded source engine 64-bit.gcf , but on my 7 x64 It doesn't even though I have the GCF :(
Team Fortress 2 should be given 64-bit
Whats the difference?

Yeah. TF2 is so CPU eater and I think 64bit would help it a lot. I wonder why Valve stopped with 64bit:frown:

Maps were loading nearly instant for me.

Windows Ultimate? Not enough info. It can be Vista or 7 or some stupid modded version of XP.
Steam Support.
