Long story short; I was looking for an MMO that isn't complete trash that could keep me busy and entertained for a while.
My eye fell on Vanguard - Saga of Heroes, from what I've heard it's one of the harder/more hardcore MMO's, and that's what I'm looking for.
My question is: is it still worth it to get into the game at this stage?
Thanks in advance.
There are no low level players left, and reaching the higher levels takes forever. Other than that, it's pretty decent. It has beautiful landscapes and free for all PvP is exciting (when it's not utterly annoying). Last time I checked in on it, I wasn't impressed, and I don't think it would be worth starting, but it's not that bad, just not for me.
Before launch it had everything going for it. Community seemed eager, full scale PVP, graphics, many zones, races. Everything anyone would want.
And then it came out.
Okay, so not as active and good as I hoped.
Any reccomendations for other MMO's?

I tried that a while back... truth be told I thought it was quite bad...
I don't know if this has changed, but I'd rather not play that again.
EverQuest or EverQuest 2? or maybe try Aion?

I have Aion, and it was fun for a while... but I got a bit bored after that.
EQ1/2 seem interesting, but isn't it a bit too late to join those as a complete newbie?

EQ2 is still running pretty strong. I would say Vanguard also can be fun if you're interested.

Out of the two, which would you recommend?
No, the game is dead.
Only played it a few times, but it was a lot like EQ2/EQ1.
I would recommend EQ2 myself, larger player base and it doesn't take a ridiculously long time to level. Has great visuals and TONS of content.
Hey turtlehead how long ago did you play?

The non-instanced dungeons are great as well as the base design of the game, but even when I played it shortly after release there weren't many players and I can't see how it could have increased since then
I've looked into Everquest II a bit and I think I'm gonna get that.
Thanks for all the suggestions!
