"It's official: SO2, the prequel to the original Half-Life 2 total conversion about the impending zombie apocalypse, is currently being developed as a "stand-alone" Counter-Strike: Source modification." Source: http://www.moddb.com/mods/situation-outbreak-two/news/situation-outbreak-two-officially-announced SVN: http://situation-outbreak-two.googlecode.com/svn/so2/ I used to play a ton of the old SO and found it extremely fun yet underrated, so I personally find this news very exciting.
I just hope it's BETTER than the old one.
I just realized I have situation outbreak installed. I guess I'll play it some time.
This looks pretty damn awesome. Well at least the character stuff does, especially for a Source mod.
Wow, this does look nice. I just hope they expand the character design a little. Don't wanna see that same facemap for every survivor.
Looks a lot better than the first one.
here is the mod itself SVN , if anyone didnt find it . http://situation-outbreak-two.googlecode.com/svn/so2/
Just played that. I know that this is BETA , but I am dissapoint. You have a huge error in your hands , there are tons of zombies , and you cant do anything to them. Cheats does not work , and character customization does not work as well Gameinfo mounts Half life 2 dm , but it also mounts counter strike as additional , so I am confused. Hope , this wont be abandoned
So the mod comprised largely of stolen content and poorly coded, half-implemented ideas is going to have a sequel? Big whoop.
I'm getting the growing impression that I'm the only one here who actually enjoyed the first Situation Outbreak.
I'm getting the growing impression that I'm the only one here who actually enjoyed the first Situation Outbreak.
Your not, I also enjoyed the first. I played many hours of it with some friends, and beta tested one of the newly made maps for it. Good times man. I'll be looking forward to this.
I don't understand the point in releasing a sequel to a mod without a proper story. Why don't you just heavily update the first?
[img_thumb]http://static.facepunch.com/fp/avatar.png[/img_thumb]
He changed it.

This looks pretty good, never heard of it. Thanks for sharing.
:saddowns:
I'm not even being sarcastically critical. I look at their Mod DB gallery and the first thing I see is an altered version of a Banshee skin I made for Zombie Master. This comes after their first release included a very blatantly copy and pasted a model from Zombie Master (read the comments) because they're too incapable/incompetent to re-rig their own models and don't care about directly lifting content from other teams. True to their typical work ethic, Agent Red Production's contribution comes from grayscaling the entire texture and then slapping some blood layers on it. If you happen to be bored some rainy afternoon, a fun game to play is to go through all of ZombieMod's/Situation Outbreak's assets and try to determine just how many individuals are left uncredited for their work.

Actually I was waiting for this mod for a long time , not knowing about dev SVN. And yes , I did enjoy the first outbreak [editline]11th January 2011[/editline] Hey , Facepunch. How about a game , or two?
I hope character customization is more than just changing your glasses and helmet :colbert:
I hope character customization is more than just changing your glasses and helmet :colbert:
It is not . It is fun that way too.
Character customization seems to be Counter Terrorist helmets with that terrorist with glasses face. I realise this is for Counter Strike Source, but if all you're going to do is take already used models and "paint" them black, you should slam your head against a wall until you acquire talent.

It's in development. He JUST started making it. He probably has plans for much much more....
Dude.... this isn't even a Beta, or Alpha. It's in development. He JUST started making it. Infact his entire uniform is black, and I bet it's simply a Counter Terrorist skin.

The mod doesn't even have a state right now, it's being made. It's like if someone was making a sandwich for you and they were only able to put on turkey. You then snatch it without the person being able to put anything else on it, take a bight out of it and say, "The fuck, this tastes terrible. Were the hell is the cheese, lettuce, tomatos, etc...." You expect to much from a mod that's currently in development and hasn't even released an alpha. For what he has, I'm actually surprised considering the time he's been working on it.

Standalone CSS mod What the hell?
