Hello.
I'm looking for the ports you need to have open to be able to play minecraft multiplayer, not the ones for hosting.
I've searched a bit but could only find hosting tutorials.
Thank you.
Don't need any afaik
try the ones for hosting anyway?
25565 TCP/UDP?
There shouldn't be any for MP
check your AV isn't blocking anything or your router isnt blocking anything, and I am no means an expert please don't yell at me if I'm wrong
If you enable UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) on your router, you should be able to play just fine. Opening ports is really only needed when other people have to send data to your computer for your server to handle.
All right well this is for my girlfriend who studies at a boarding school with a lot of blocked ports.
Luckily the internet guy was willing to open the port for minecraft if it was simple enough.
Thanks guys :)

Oh and please don't start a debate on how this is so wrong because it's a school, she is not going to be playing during class.
A boarding school is a school where you live while you study there.
