Let's discuss this game?
As of my opinion it's THE BEST RTS EVER. (Or at least until someone kicks it's ass.)
And IMHO Red Alert 3 was just a pile of bullcrap. I would've loved a HDed 2D version instead.
And does anyone know if there are any RA2 communities where you can find people for Online play?
I got red alert 1 on disk. Can't install it though. Does anyone got a link to that thing on the C&C site where they were free?

Those were and still are my two favorite RTS games. Nothing compares to them and I am sure nothing will. Hell I am going to reinstall them now, sounds like a fun afternoon.

Agreed, RA3 was terrible. Anything after Generals is a pile of rubbish.

No, generals was actually pretty fun. Very buggy but fun.
As much as I like RA2, I still prefer tiberian sun.
Mirage tanks, prism tanks, crazy Ivan, tesla troopers, chronospheres, iron curtains... shocked in awe.
We had good games back then. Sometimes I think, maybe we were more easily satisfied with these games because we were younger, but when you play them again and compare them to new games, you'll find they were actually really good.

I fucking hate the default skins for the infantry though. It is god awful. I am so glad people have made skins for this game.

First RTS I ever played. Still the best, in my books.
Also, the mods. Nothing is more special than watching 7 cows nuke one of my presidents.

RA2 & RA2:YR Favourite Rts's to me aswell, first ones that I bought myself.
I really can't play YR without Mental Omega's APYR (Almost Perfect Yuri's Revenge) mod, about the best mod from what I've tested.
RA2 is awesome, I just wish it could played over LAN easier.
Great games, I played them for ages despite being so terrible at them.
I could never beat a brutal enemy in skirmish, and online my friend had to keep me alive half the time.

the Yuri's revenge expansion was actually stuff that they didn't have time to put in RA2 due to EA being a dick with deadlines, rare to see rushed and unfinished games turn out this well.

God damn there is no doubt about it, C&C was an awesome series before it got raped.
I have red alert 2 lying next to me, will it work on W7 64 bit?
The only "tactic" me and my friends played by was to spam GIs, no number of brutals could get past them.

Yuri's class was so overpowered it's ridicoulus.

Not the best RTS, but the best C&C game. All the rest after it sucked shit compared to good ol' RA2.
