• Steam Game Just Won't Launch

I recently downloaded Half-Life 2 from Steam. When it said 100% Ready I double-Clicked it and the box came up telling my "Preparing to launch Half-Life2" after about 5 seconds this box disappears and nothing happens. I have contacted Steam Support, I re-installed Steam, Re-downloaded the Games, Deleted ClientRegistry.blob and set my acceleration to max. can someone tell me whats wrong and how I can fix it? Thanks Seb (User was banned for this post ("Wrong section" - Greeman))

Run it as administrator or set the compatibility mode to a lower os
Go into sound devices --> recording and Disable Stereo Mix.

Whoops, I meant enable it. Right click the little sound thing on your vista bar, Click Recording Devices, Right click, and Click "Show Disabled or Disconnected Devices". and then enable it.
