Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V heads to the city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches in the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created. A bold new direction in open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer, Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California.
News: Grand Theft Auto V making great progress. Videos: Here's the first GTA V trailer:
all of my money well $60 of my money
Back to finding insignificant minor details in the trailer and turn it into major discussions again, I guess.
Today, it's been exactly 3 months since the first trailer was released. I want more info already :(
A fantastic news for all GTA fans! Take2 Conference Call: "Grand Theft Auto V making great progress"
No mean to disrespect, but that's hardly news. It's obvious that GTA V is in full developmental effect, they've even said in on the main site ever since the official announcement was made. But I guess it's good that we have some kind of update. I've noticed I've been as hungry for more info as much as everybody else now.. Haha, I used to stay patient too but now I need my new GTA fix so bad.
Wow, this thread has really gotten slower. When any info is released at all about the game, this thread will be super-active.
This may have been discussed before, but I would really like some checkpoints in missions. Not loads of them so dying has no consequence, but say if there's a long drive from one end of the city to the other, then a giant shootout, a checkpoint at the end of the drive might be a nice thing.

This wallpaper is really impressive.
not impressive ~artistic~ [editline]4th February 2012[/editline] that hobo looks a little out of place though
So like in EFLC
oh I haven't played those yet, they have checkpoints? Excellent.
Would be perfect IMO, if they followed the rich/poor by separating them with the opposing sides.

I sure as hell hope there's nice vehicle deformation. (Not that you couldn't probably mod it but still!)
I wouldn't mind if they changed the handling to be a bit more like the older games
Here is the full size wallpaper. (2560x1600) [thumb]http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2011/309/8/0/gta_v_wallpaper___second_by_hustler098-d4f534d.jpg[/thumb]
I wouldn't mind if they changed the handling to be a bit more like the older games
Yeah, I tihnk they need to find the right middle ground. In GTA IV it was too slow and clumsy, and in GTA III era games it was unrealistically responsive with too much grip. The main things that need to be fixed in GTA IV are to have stronger breaks, and also make it a bit easier to steer, with less insane understeer.
I like the way the Realistic Driving and Handling "mod" felt for IV, perhaps it'll be a bit more like that. But I also like IV how it is, too. Of course, it's time has passed and it just needs more kinks and stuff. III-era's was also comforting in the sense it just grabbed on, like the sense of "grip". But yeah, it was a bit too much after getting used to IV.
I agree, I preferred IV's.
The main reason I dislike playing all the older games is because of the physics in them. I much preferred all the handling and whatnot of the cars in IV than any of the older games.

Just bought TBOGT, gonna try and play that until GTA V so I can get in the good driving mindset.

Only use the handbreak if you are really certain of what you are doing.
Some more grip in IV wouldn't hurt and it wasn't realistic at all, every turn was almost a drifting competition
You just had to slow down before you turn, and be careful with your braking while steering.
being careful doesn't fit with a GTA game imo [editline]5th February 2012[/editline] I think that the middle ground between SA and IV would be good
I liked IV's driving a lot, with the exception of flying out of the window every 10 seconds. That's just one of those realism things that doesn't add to gameplay
I thought that part was pretty funny. I actually find myself good ways to fly out of the window. I've always laughed when it happened to a pedestrian, also. Though, it's terribly annoying during chase missions, but there's no reason why it wouldn't be in that situation. I like the idea of seatbelts in the same sense of helmets for bikes, so that's how they can separate the notion.

Damn.
I'm glad for that. Savor the awesome. I don't want a lot to know about this huge installment - surprisesurprise. It's better this way in my views.
