http://www.halflifezone.com/ A friend showed me this site, and he needed some way to promote it. Honestly, if you check out some of the categories there is a lot of useful stuff. They just started it, so don't expect that much to be there. But hopefully it would help restart some of the old HL modding. I miss playing mods like Paranoia, Brain Bread and Sandpit.
theres like a billion already established websites for half-life mods/maps.
I co-own this site. I might give some freebies and shoutouts to Facepunchers. Depends on how this all goes down. We need donations, though. We can't find a way to pay our bill and it's due February, it's only 1USD but we can't get it paid.
if you can't even get a dollar then you probably shouldn't be running a (useless) site.
if you can't even get a dollar then you probably shouldn't be running a (useless) site.
We can get the money, we just can't really get a way to pay it off, me? I'm jack shit broke, my friend who co-owns, can't get 25USD by the time he needs to bank enough to get a debit card. So we're kinda in jack fuck luck. And of course it's useless to you, no offense. [editline]17th January 2011[/editline] Whelp, just got a 6USD donation, thanks to my friend Binladen34.
So this site doesn't do anything Source related, just Goldsrc?
So this site doesn't do anything Source related, just Goldsrc?
They'll probably host Source stuff too. Like I said it's new.
They'll probably host Source stuff too. Like I said it's new.
Cool, I'm interested IF it will have Source stuff, as I lack any Goldsrc games. (I switched to PC gaming this year, I own HL:S though, making getting HL a waste)
Getting half life is one of the best things you can do, there is 1 mod for HL:S.
I realize this, I got HL:S because I wasn't thinking about mods at the time. I wanted the same experience but I also wanted the HL:S props, ragdolls, and maps to be mountable in Gmod. I DO wish I could get CS and HL, but I wish I didn't need to. (But no, tht doesn't mean I'll resort to piracy)
That Paronia review is complete bullshit to be honest. If you didn't notice throughout your gameplay, there are plenty of notes in many rooms that mostly tell the story of the game and why everything happened, etc. The environment isn't supposed to look like a paradise. It's supposed to look old and terrible, a place where you wouldn't like to go no matter what just by the spooky atmosphere. That's what makes S.T.A.L.K.E.R great and all. The mod had plenly of details, there was never a room that was incredibly bland. There were always plenty of details, specially if you took some time to explore the facilities and all. It's a very interesting, highly detailed and atmospheric mod. I enjoyed it a lot. Of course the ending let us with basically nothing. But that was it, you finished the job. I'd give it a 9/10. Great mod.
I liked the PoV review, it was pretty interesting.
Getting half life is one of the best things you can do, there is 1 mod for HL:S.
Plus HL: S sucks shit. Buying HL was a great move for me (I got it during the anniversary sale mind you). The mods are awesome.
Plus HL: S sucks shit. Buying HL was a great move for me (I got it during the anniversary sale mind you). The mods are awesome.
I know, but it is very useful to mount to Gmod.
Plus HL: S sucks shit. Buying HL was a great move for me (I got it during the anniversary sale mind you). The mods are awesome.
They were even more awesome 5-10 years ago when people were playing them (multiplayer of course, back then I didn't have time for sp).

Hopefully it'll be a good replacement for Chatbear.
I love your tutorials page.
I love your tutorials page. [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/tutorial.PNG[/img_thumb]
yea I know like WTF how can this be a very resourceful site if it doesn't have one tutorial. :/ EDIT: And it says at the bottom 'Copyright 2009', your in your second year and all you have to show for it is a very bare website, empty forum and a great programs page (unless those links are all dead)

At least you have a proper list of tools. Forums doesn't look bad either.
They were even more awesome 5-10 years ago when people were playing them (multiplayer of course, back then I didn't have time for sp).
gone are the golden days of half life mods i wish people still played action half life
I like the fact that through Steam Half-Life 2 and the expansions, etc automatically update when you login, but what keeps getting updated? The other day I logged in and HL2 had a 300+Mb (I think) update installed! Because it just updates automatically and you don't have to physically download a patch, you don't get a readme telling you what has been added or changed. Here are a few things that I believe have changed... 1) When I first played through HL2, in the Water Hazard section, I'm sure that the Vortigaunt failed to attach that Combine gun to my airboat after stopping off at the resistance outpost. I remember having to just avoid the gunship and I couldn't shoot it down. Now, after it was first updated, the Vorti fits the gun. 2) When I first played HL2: Episode One, I can't be certain but I am sure that at the end I had to take out multiple Striders before I could get on the train. Now, after updates, there is only one. I seem to remember it being a lot harder than what it is now. 3) With this recent HL2 update that I mentioned before, groups of Combine now seem to have a kind of squad leader - a guy who is harder and has red uniform markings and mask eyes - instead of all the others which have blue. - :downs: Have you ever seen anything like this?
Real great moderating team he's got there. They sure know a lot about and try to keep up to date with Half-Life and Steam.
