Because I'm trying to fetch a new keycode (current one is broken) for Skyrim, and Bethesda told me to send them a proof of purchase. I have the reciept, but it doesn't say I bought Skyrim, just says I bought a PC game that was 59.99 and my cashier was Adam.
Is the reciept still good if it just lists these things?
Also they told me to send a scan of the package and the game disk and the code sheet. I don't know how to do any of that.
No. bar codes are used by the store to scan the item, usually
How come my bar code says Proof of Purchase at the bottom of it?
No, you need a CD key. Barcodes are not unique to anything so they can't authenticate where it was purchased and to whom.

Try finding a HASH key, I think that's what its called.
A bar code is not unique, every copy of Skyrim has the same barcode as it is used to automate record keeping, not prove purchases. A barcode says proof of purchase because it needs to be scanned by a person who will then give you a receipt.
your original proof of purchase and bar code. IN NO EVENT SHALL LINKSYS' LIABILITY EXCEED THE PRICE PAID FOR THE PROD-. UCT FROM DIRECT ..

mom and pop shop or what?
and you take the papery insert out of the sleeve, put it on your scanner bed, place the disk and the code sheet next to the scanner bed
Will that damage the disk in any way? Also what is the code sheet where do I find it?

What if the CD key is invalid, aka already used somehow?
Also I'll try finding a hash key.
the code sheet would be the thing that has the keycode
be it the manual or what have you
label facing the scanner obviously. and usually they have you put your ticket number on the scan
This is the third time you have posted about your Skryim cd-key problem.
Once in the Skyrim thread, one in a thread you created about your key not working, and now this one.
Seriously. Pick one spot and post, there is no need for you to post in different spots just because the first one is not getting you the answer you want quick enough.
In your previous thread (http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1203477) you said you put in the 25 character cd-key into steam to activate it.
I guarantee you are putting in the wrong code. Skryim cd-keys are in this formate
1ABCD-D3FGH-45I67
as stated by https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7480-WUSF-3601
The keycode is on a white sticker below where the disk is.
And sorry about this, where is my ticket number?
No, the keycode is on the back of the insert that was found inside of the case. You are putting in the wrong information.
The keycode is on a white sticker below where the disk is.

This is not a CD key problem, this is a problem with sending proof of purchase to Bethesda.
And I know it is in that format, that is the problem.
the fact that a, your key is wrong
and it was bought from a mom and pop shop
something tells me someones making 60 bucks off blank dvd's

The whole problem started when you posted saying your 25 character key wasn't working. You were then told to contact Bethesda instead of Steam Support, which is why you created this thread. I don't care if this particular thread is about how to send PoP to Bethesda. The whole problem started with your key not working, and I am telling you again, that you are not putting in the right information into Steam.
... mom and pop shop? I bought this from Fred Meyer.
It's an official store, where many people shop, in Washington atleast.
I guarentee you this was not a fake.
yeah well your receipt doesnt say skyrim
so either bethesda or valve support will most likely not give you a new key

Fred Meyer is a very common store here in America. If you have a problem with your Skryim, the first place you should have gone was back to them, for they will be able to help you directly long before Bethesda or Steam could. If the code was missing, then it is their responsibility to replace it.
I'm not going back to the store I bought it from, because I already contacted Bethesda, and they said in the email they will give me a new code. Why would I go through the trouble of driving back to Fred Meyer, when you can just sit at home and contact Bethesda, yes it's lazy, but driving back to Fred Meyer is not worth the effort, it's a game. I just want to get a new keycode and play the game I spent 60 bucks on.

Whatever man. You posted a thread, people gave you advice, you pretty much ignored every bit of it, and came off as completely crass.
Good luck and hope you enjoy your game whenever you get it working.
I didn't ignore any of it, I took every bit of their advice, they served useless. Except, however, the one that said I should contact Bethesda, which has been working out for me.
Now it all comes down to proof of purchase. Thank you good sir.

which you don't have btw
technically if the key is printed wrong they don't have any record of it
and since the receipt doesn't say skyrim
you can't prove you obtained it legally
Don't tell me using a reciept is the only way to prove you purchased it.
That's really unreliable since this reciept doesn't even say Skyrim...
You know what, I'm starting to think you're trying to scam Bethesda for a free key. Any sane person would go back to the store if they had actually bought it.
I'm not. I have a real copy. I'm just going to scan the UPC code and the reciept, you people are useless cunts.

You could send them a picture of the CD key with your name your using under it written CLEARLY.
One question. Are you sure you're looking at the RIGHT location where the CD key is as Jedi_Rayne mention before. You said earlier the key was location on a white sticker, which is wrong.
