• Which final fantasy to start with?

I'm a little mad I didn't get to do any Final Fantasy playing, it looks fun as hell. Which one do I start with? PS2 please.
Final Fantasy X.
Ff7
Final Fantasy 7. Also, both Kefka and Sephiroth are good villains (considering the times and resources available when they were made) in different ways, now with that said don't start the argument like in many (most?) FF threads.
So I should start with 7 instead of 10?
Definitely 7. Also, none of the Final Fantasy games are in a series, each of their stories are totally independant from each other so it doesn't really matter where you start from. You will probably be mindfucked by the weird creatures and the story but believe me, playing the others will get you no backstory at all.
Wow, so much for a storyline. :eng99: Thanks anyways. :D
Yeah 7 is the most popular and it has a bunch of prequels/sequels. 7,8,9 were my favorites. After 10 I stopped caring. Here's the FF7 things in order (Time) Before Crisis (Phone) Crisis Core (PSP) Final Fantasy 7 (PS) Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children (DVD) Final Fantasy 7 Dirge of Cerberus (PS2 [it sucks] ) there's probably other ones in there somewhere. I'd just go with 7 first.
Yeah 7 is so popular it has loads of good and bad prequels and sequels, a remake and even a goddamn MOVIE.
As Kondor said, they aren't connected, and you'll probably be a bit (a lot actually) confused by the storyline, but it will make (somewhat) sense later (talking about FF7 here). [sp]Like that voice telling you "Watch out, this is more than just a reactor." at the beginning, only after I had finished the game I thought "Wait, was that him?"[/sp].
Don't play any, it's shit
Yeah 7 is so popular it has loads of good and bad prequels and sequels, a remake and even a goddamn MOVIE.
And it's characters (especially one character) are pretty much everywhere (to the point it nearly gets obnoxious after a while).
Is everyone talking about the PS1 FF7?
WEeabboo faggots dancing around and poor tactics and stratigics shit game lol for anime faggots and weeaboos
Don't play any, it's shit
Like it or not, they made a huge impact, and they are very important (as I said before, references to the FFs and it's characters are all over the place).
Yeah 7 is so popular it has loads of good and bad prequels and sequels, a remake and even a goddamn MOVIE.
There's a remake? I just downloaded 7 on my PSP. Memories yeh yeh
It's one of those amazing, well thought out kind of plots where you are thrown into the middle of an anti government plot, there isn't even any intro dialogue to set the scene or reason. You just have to play and you piece together the story for yourself. The characters are all so unique, this was made before weeaboos took over square enix, it IS in the anime style but it's put to good use. For the time that FF7 was made in, none of the characters are generic at all.
Is everyone talking about the PS1 FF7?
I think
it's shit lol it's ALL BIG GUSN BIG SWORDS NO STORY ONLY WERABLPOO!
Is everyone talking about the PS1 FF7?
Yeah, is the PS2 version different?

You're a terrible troll. Stop wasting your time.
There's a PS2 version?
No :P I forgot PS2s are backwards compatible
I played 5 first myself, but I think that since 7 is the most well known (and with good reason!) you should just start there. 6 is really good as well, Kefka is a pretty awesome villain.
8 is great too. Even more confusing though.

I'll repeat, I think, it was never explained clearly (unless I missed it).
You can also get the FF anthology for PSX, I have it and it's 3, 4 and 5 (I think). The 2D final fantasies are A LOT harder than the 3D ones (FF7+) [editline]06:08PM[/editline]
8 is great too.
