Should I get TF2? - Games - Facepunch Forum

I'm just starting to get into PC Gaming a bit, and Portal is my first game that I really like for PC, and I got it off Steam. So now, I'm thinking of moving on to TF2. I'm big into shooters, along with RPGs and multiplayers, (which I know TF2 is, multiplayer-shooter), but is TF2 just a matter of opinion game, or is really all that it is hyped up?

Get portal for free before May 24 and buy TF2.

TF2 is an amazingly fun game. If you want to get hooked into PC gaming, get it for sure. :biggrin: Edit: Not that I'm biased. Couldn't tell by my avatar, right? :v:

yeah it's fun as hell. i havent played in a while because i got bored, but its still tons of fun

As overrated as I find Valve to be, TF2 is a masterpiece. Get it.

TF2 is awesome game, and still going strong for it's age. worth every cent.

Do you have Half Life 2? If not get the Orange Box. Best pack of games ever.

It's a sandbox game running on the Source engine, the more Source powered games you have the more weapons, models and objects you have in GMod. You basically do whatever you want, build stuff, destroy stuff, there's plenty of stuff to do as long as you have the time and the imagination. It's a really neat game, even though the community is flooded with 12-year olds and mingebags.

But since I found the glories of Steam, I think I'm beginning to like it more and more.

Wait for a sale. Over christmas they sold it for $2.50.

I lose the will to play sometimes, but thats probably because I play 2fort and I find items like once every week. But it's an awesome game.

It's a really solid, well designed multiplayer FPS that you will most likely enjoy playing for years to come.

TF2 is completely overrated terrible game. I do not know how anybody finds it entertaining at all.

I'd say it's overrated and that I don't play it anymore (I don't) but then I'd be kicking myself because I did spend 80 hours playing it total. It's a great game, buy it.
