It's separated into three HUGE districts. Yes you will have to teleport between them, but this is because of the districts being too big to be connected like in the previous games. There are some additions though. Two new game modes have been added, one to simplify the trick system (Easy Mode) and one to make it harder (Hardcore Mode). Hardcore Mode restricts tricks to be performed at a lower height to make things such as flip-tricks and getting onto ledges harder; it has been said that you can bail on flat if you don't flick a trick hard enough. Grinds are also much harder as there isn't as much 'suction' into ledges and rails. It also takes five pushes to get to top speed on flat as opposed to the three in the last two skate games. The videos on the main website also say that Hardcore Mode is for a more sim-oriented gamer-base. Easy Mode tweaks the games physics in the opposite direction of Hardcore Mode, allowing higher ollies, faster spins, and easier (more magnetic) grinds. Create-a-park is also a big feature in Skate 3. This allows gamers to build skateparks similar to the Tony Hawk games. According to the skate website, players can build a variety of set-ups such as mega ramps and plazas. There will be three new game modes to play with others: '1-Up', 'Domination', and 'Own The Lot'. In 1-Up you have a given number of seconds to get a point total as a team and then the other team has to beat, or "1-Up", that score. In Domination the teams are going against each other trying to own as many spots that they can in a time limit. In Own The Lot there will be six to twelve things to do (e.g.; grind a ledge, fliptrick off a ramp) in a certain area that need to be completed by your team first to win. The game will take place in the fictional city of Port Carverton, which embraces skateboarding, unlike the "skateboarding is a crime" mentality that permeated the second game. It is also a much more colorful and happier place than Skate 2's desaturated, grainy streets. Instead of security guards chasing you, they will instead point you to the next great spot, and pedestrians will cheer you on, rather than complain when you skate by them. The game is released May 11th in North America, and May 14th worldwide. Go Skate!
I want it for pc
Looks better than the Tony Hawk games in every way [editline]12:44PM[/editline] Except for that this doesn't have a PC version
Any splitscreen?
It is a hundred times better than Tony Hawk to be honest. Not sure about splitscreen. Keep asking questions, I can probably answer most.
Fuck Yeah!
I want it now. Tomorrow couldn't get here faster :frown:
I really hope this has splitscreen, that was the best bit of Tony Hawks. Skate 1 is awesome, just lacks splitscreen, if this has it I'll definitely buy.
Is the demo 30 minutes long like Original Skate's demo? and has it got freeskate?
I hope they get more DCshoes stuff.
I hope you can still get hit by cars in funny ways. That's all I did on the first one.
If Reda is in this one, I will cry. "BUTTA CAYKES"
What will most people have this for?
There are spot battles and so on, but no split screen unfortunately. The thing why I'm waiting for this is the hc difficulty. Even MORE realistic skate simulator sounds fucking perfect. Still.. If they fucked the hc difficulty up, I'm not going to buy this. I've played Skate 1 and 2 both for like 150 hours but I sure as hell am not giving them my money if there's really nothing especially great new. Prop spawner, yay. Dark slides, yay. Create-a-park, actually kinda yay. Uh, what else...? A new city yeah, yay. Not enough. Pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaase, don't you DARE to fuck the hc difficulty up, done right and it's the best fucking thing in months!
But I don't have any cables connected to my X360 yet :frown: Guess I'll just buy the full version then and hope it's as good as the second (Didn't own the first)
I hope the easy mode is just like Skate 2, dont want it to be Moon Physics/SkateSim
I want it for DreamCast.
EA not trying to get the make money possible and not releasing it for PC? What the hell is wrong with those kids nowadays? :colbert:
I don't think the market for skate games are big enough on the PC. Since it's the type of game most people buy on console. As well as the game's control scheme, which is built around the analog sticks would be impossible on the PC (unless you use a joypad)
Fuck yeah, I love Skate. Just a shame that nobody I know plays it.
Can't wait to get this, hard mode sounds fun
It is a hundred times better than Tony Hawk to be honest. Not sure about splitscreen. Keep asking questions, I can probably answer most.
I'm sure it is, i've never had to chance to play it, but the newer TH games suck. The old TH games are still badass.
Hard mode is something i will look forward to. Wonder if this will match the first T.H.U.G game.
I hope the easy mode is just like Skate 2, dont want it to be Moon Physics/SkateSim
I think it's Easy/Normal/Hard
Really, three different modes sounds weird for the replay videos, if thats how its gonna be do you think the Skate.reel thing will be separated or will they all be mixed, Cause I know when Im looking at vids Im not looking for "realistic tricks" Im looking for crazy shit and people who play on hard are probably looking for the "realistic" stuff
add me on XBL talkbox we can play some tomorow if anyone's interested.
Fuck I hope this demo is online.
I'm sure it is, i've never had to chance to play it, but the newer TH games suck. The old TH games are still badass.
Hell, I've got 2, 3 and 4 lying around here and I played the shit out of THUG 2 until my discs got lost.
i dont get whats fun about these skateboarding games
I want it for pc
why? you'd have to use a console controller anyway
I love these games, purely because it takes 100% skill to be good at ... If you go online its very RARE you see someone that's good at it
