I think it looks AMAZING. Oh come on! How low of a resolution did they put it to run on consoles?
It should be called the ADD Engine, enough shiny stuff to keep you're attention.
i was hoping in the future of gaming they'd care more about gameplay
i was hoping in the future of gaming they'd care more about gameplay
seeing video of cryengine 3 and its potential = gameplay of games utilizing cryengine 3
Engine demo has bad gameplay. must be shit :hurr:
seeing video of cryengine 3 and its potential = gameplay of games utilizing cryengine 3
Sadly like CryEngine 1 and 2, no games will be released for it other than it's predecessors.
Hopefully they'll market out to other companies now.
Hopefully they'll market out to other companies now.
Or make millions on timesplitters 4.
Tell us what you think of CryEngine 3
Us...?
Us...?
the people reading the thread....
the people reading the thread....
Oh. Haha. I think it's a great engine, and could be useful for a lot of things. Hopefully developers will see the good in it and try to develop more games on it. I ran Crysis better than some newer, uglier looking games, so it can be decently optimized.
As long as they don't dumb down the graphics for PCs (and I don't think they will), the engine looks great. Also, third thread showing that trailer. If you're going to make it a general CryEngine 3 thread, why not go ahead and throw some more videos/screenshots in there?
Maybe this will be something that can give quad-cores an actual use.
i think unreal engine has more capabilities than cryengine tbh
It should be called the ADD Engine, enough shiny stuff to keep you're attention.
Then wouldn't it be the Anti-ADD Engine(ADD stands for Attention Deficit Disorder...)?
As amazing as it looks, a lot of games probably won't be using it, as what happened with CryEngine 2. Still, I would love to see a lot of games made on this engine, if it is as good as it looks.
I think that the gameplay will still be good.

They probably just have consoles on low/medium settings, with PC's not set on those defaults.
Yet people will still use the UE3 engine.
I think ce3 license costs more than ue3, or does it?
anyone know what xbox 360 games will use this engine? looks kick ass
anyone know what xbox 360 games will use this engine? looks kick ass
Right now: Crysis 2
" Oh my... Mooommmm! There's wet stuff all over my ding-a-ling! "
ouch, thats still got a year
the first screen is from a console and looks like shit. hoping for a GOOD game on this engine. Not that crysis piece of shit stuff.
Think... Half-Life... on CryEngine 3!
Think... Half-Life... on CryEngine 3!
Thinking, thinking, can't think of.
I mean... big giant, destructible environments... seamless levels that don't crash ever map load... epic!
