Me and my brother enjoy playing some vidya over the internet once in a while, though i've found it hard to find some decent Co-op games where we can play online. So i'm sure Facepunch knows a couple, it doesn't have to be strictly co-op, it can be any online game really.
Some good ones we've already tried.
Bad Company 2/Vietnam
Dead Rising 2
L4D 2
Diablo 2
and a couple others i've forgotten.
On a side note, more games should follow Dead Rising 2's example and have co-op available throughout the main story of pretty much any game. I mean, why not? Unless it completely conflicts with the game mechanics, it can do nothing but boost sales.

Killing floor and alien swarm.
Black Bro-Ops.
Swat 4.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
Hands down the most fun arcade coop game. You can coop play through the main story just like you mentioned about DR2. You can also do "Terrorist Hunt" missions on coop that have the terrorist layout change every time you load the mission. This game is the shits for coop.
Pretty much every co-op game ever

Has a fantastic search filter too
Borderlands is awesome for like one playthrough and RE5 is decent since it's made for co-op
Splinter Cell.
Civilization can be fun, as well as Medieval II, although it's a hassle to set an actual online campaign up.
