• New Jurassic Park Game

Right, so as a former staff member of Lost World Returns (Don't even bother with it. It's in development purgatory), I've had an urge to play a decent dinosaur game since Dreamworks came out with Trespasser in '98 (I think). I literally got sent this link last night while playing League of Legends. http://www.gameinformer.com/games/jurassic_park/b/pc/archive/2011/01/14/an-unlikely-developer-steps-into-the-maw-of-a-troubled-license.aspx Apparently a new Jurassic Park game is in the works that will be released in episodes, which means we should thank Valve for not trying to make it. It is taking some cues from Heavy Rain which means it will be decision based and whatnot, with some set pieces focusing on instant response and action. Personally, I just want a game like Trespasser with modern day technology. I'd love a game where you're dropped on an island with dinosaurs and have to use your wit to actually get off alive. Just wondering the thoughts of you guys, if you haven't seen it yet. Personally, I think it may be yet another failure. You realize it's an adventure game, right? As in, point-and-click.

Everyone knew about the JP game, but the screenshots are new. It looks pretty cool imo.
You realize it's an adventure game, right? As in, point-and-click.
Lost Eden ring a bell?
Nope. Last dinosaur game I play was Turok (X-Box 360 verison). That game was the biggest let down of its year.
Hopefully, it will have been worth the weight. ~Gabe Newell Seriously though, it will be worth it if these are portable into GMod.
You realize it's an adventure game, right? As in, point-and-click.
If this is the case, I am disappoint. Graphics look nice, but I'm not particularly fond of point-and-click games.
They should just remake Trespasser on a modern engine.
How the fuck can you have graphics this amazing and make it a fucking PnC That defeats the whole purpose
No one honestly said it would be PnC. Telltale said they're looking at Heavy Rain and they want to try a new gameplay experience for this. It could be something different.
I think the graphic's look sexy for the T-rex...Raptor's look a bit...
I still have trespasser. Re-installed it a few years ago, it's incomprehensible and really hard.
I still have Trespasser and played it not too long ago. Trescom.org actually has kept a pretty large playerbase still into that game. They've overhauled most of the dinosaurs, graphics, and gameplay. It's around the '02 era of graphics but still pretty damn fun, especially with the new Isle levels.
I actually really enjoyed Trespasser, sure it had a few bugs and a lot was cut out, I still found it extremely fun.
Making a point and click game based on Jurassic park is an insult to the series when even mid range computers are able to run Crysis.
Graphics looks bad IMO.
Making a point and click game based on Jurassic park is an insult to the series when even mid range computers are able to run Crysis.
I'd prefer a first-person survival horror/action type game. Point and click doesn't really interest me at all.
Point-and-clicks are awesome. Phoenix Wright, Escape the x room. So awesome. [editline]17th January 2011[/editline] But so are the likes of Penumbra and Amnesia.
You realize it's an adventure game, right? As in, point-and-click.
No. Its said to act exactly like Heavy Rain [editline]17th January 2011[/editline]
Graphics looks bad IMO.
Look at Telltales other games. Then look at this again
I'd prefer a first-person survival horror/action type game. Point and click doesn't really interest me at all.
I'd personally love something along the lines of Nazi Zombies, but with raptors as the zombies and various other Jurassic period predators as bosses.
Hopefully, it will have been worth the weight. ~Gabe Newell Seriously though, it will be worth it if these are portable into GMod.
Valve isn't making it and it won't be on source. Learn to read.
I think it will be a good game since Telltale only made good games so far, and I believe they can make a good Jurassic Park game.
How the fuck can you have graphics this amazing and make it a fucking PnC That defeats the whole purpose
waaaaah i can't have my generic spess muhreen shootan Get over it. I'd rather a Jurassic Park game be more focused on story and puzzles than a generic bald marine in a dinosaur shooting gallery.
I hope they don't make it point and click. [editline]17th January 2011[/editline]
waaaaah i can't have my generic spess muhreen shootan Get over it. I can't think of any examples right now because It's hard to name them!
Looks good, it's about time a new JP game is announced.
Graphics looks bad IMO.
:frogdowns: At some point every game looks terrible.
Uguguugu Why can't someone just hurry up and make a decent open ended survival FPS for Jurassic park? Trespasser was great despite the many rough edges, just take your cues from that you fucks.
those graphics :monocle:
