Hello Facepunch! Now I have a little history of MMOs, mainly: Ragnarok Online- Played this for a very long time, and I just came back to it and I just realised that this game is boring, I had all characters and its WoE just doesnt appealing to me anymore WOW-I don't know, this was not too big for me :/ Maple Story I am ashamed for this one, I tried it out for 1 day it's just not my type of game. So Could you suggest me what mmo to play?
Aion it's a fun game and a new game but the style can send you away. Taking a look won't hurt you badly.
EVE Online, if you'll get past the learning curve you'll have a lot of fun.
EVE Online, if you'll get past the learning curve you'll have a lot of fun.
Pretty much that. Eve is very boring and scaring at the beginning.
EvE is a scary place, and the bigger the price tag of all the goods in your cargo hold, the more scary it gets, No one is going to miss their ship if you have 400Billion worth of Cargo that they can get a friend to scoop up after destroying you on their suicide run
Aion http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXkDs5nmIPo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3nhaevsoA
Could try WAR if you like lots of PvP. Champions Online if you like a cool art direction and a LOT of customisation. Runescape if you like browser games. Wurm if you like unfinished games that could be good.
Dungeons & Dragons Online.
Dungeons and Dargons
Dungeons and Dargons
Dungeons and D"A"rgons Online is pretty boring and repetetive. I AM the fan of D&D but D&DO is just full of grind.
Dungeons and D"A"rgons Online is pretty boring and repetetive. I AM the fan of D&D but D&DO is just fll of grind.
you're doing it wrong
you're doing it wrong
What exactly am i doing wrong?
Any MMO that isn't Talisman Online, Fiesta, Atlatica, Requiem, Silkroad, Ragnarok, World of Warcraft, Corum, Rappelz, Last Chaos, Perfect World, Maple Story, Knight Online, AirRivals, Star Wars Galaxies, and Final Fantasy XI should be fine to play. Personally I'm looking forward to playing in the Mythos beta and Mortal Online.
I'm not sure what kind of mmo you are looking for, but I'm currently playing Champions Online and loving it. It has loads of customization choices, lots of humour and is pretty solo friendly. I cannot comment on PvP as it's not my main interest in the game. Have a look at the thread dedicated to it, lot's of good screenshots and discussion in there. I'd also recommend EvE as one game I've played, but it's an entirely different game, and not so much solo-friendly as CO.
Aion.
What exactly am i doing wrong?
a) solo b) tryin to fit in with the 'cool' KLUX CLAN c) thinkin about EVE d) rollin a f-ing caster and trying to solo for the first few levels e) all of the above if none of those answers suffice, you're still doing it wrong.
I'd say that WoW might be good, but it gets really boring after you hit max level. also I've played this one unfinished game called planeshift, and I say it has some potential, and it works on linux, here's an image from it. you make a full name for your character, and no numbers. also you make the story of your character's life, and there are a bunch of races, though I perfer the Kran due to thier ability to resist poison and disease, and can't drown. that rock dude in the picture is a Kran. again, it's a work in progress, so there are tons of glitches, including hostile NPC's becoming unattackable and non-hostile, and sometimes the tree textures turn rainbow colored..
Runes of Magic, perhaps the best F2P mmo out there. http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=792923 can't believe all these "recommend me" threads lately
a) solo b) tryin to fit in with the 'cool' KLUX CLAN c) thinkin about EVE d) rollin a f-ing caster and trying to solo for the first few levels e) all of the above if none of those answers suffice, you're still doing it wrong.
Have a box, i've played real D&D for few years now, also i've played NWN and NWN2, so i think i know more than enough to powerplay a D&D character. STFU. P.S. You're a loser.
EvE is pretty fun, even for Solo players, if you manage to get high enough in the stealth category, Dropping in on some unsuspecting Miner (Which will be rare in lowsec anyway) They usually have Escorts, the bastards D&D Online is great too, sure there's a grind, but it forces you to do quests and dungeons for your XP, since killing mobs doesn't give any, which is a shame, but at the same time, it's forcing people to play the game instead of being Mindless Bot-Zombies
Runes of Magic, perhaps the best F2P mmo out there.
It used to be, it's not any more though. D&D took the title of best F2P MMO.
It used to be, it's not any more though. D&D took the title of best F2P MMO.
in order to get the full D&D experience you need to pay, and even then it isn't that fun runes of magic is still on top
Conquer online.
Nostale is very good, you may like it. http://www.nostale.co.uk/ The UK server is the one I play on.
WAR all the way baby.
Hey if anybody is looking to try eve, pm me and I can send you an invite for a free trial that gives you 21 free days. This is better because a normal free trial is only 14 days.
EVE. Actually listen to the tutorial, and perhaps be slightly intutive, and you can have a assload of fun.
I'd go with Aion if you want to pay... If you want to play F2P, Runes of Magic, D&D or maybe PerfectWorld if you like grinding.
EVE. Actually listen to the tutorial, and perhaps be slightly intutive, and you can have a assload of fun.
And PvP. Fuck pve
also I've played this one unfinished game called planeshift, and I say it has some potential, and it works on linux, here's an image from it..
PlaneShift is still in progress? Good lord, I played a PlaneShift alpha back during like, the dawn of RuneScape. Looks like they've come a long way.
