Yeah, I have the Closed Beta key because of my Champions account, I just want to know when in the fucking hell I can start playing.

Actually there's been some commotion on the forums about people that didn't get the lifetime subscription of Champions Online being in the supposedly already running beta.
I'm pretty sure that since its a closed beta, there's a big ol' NDA slapping them in the face preventing them from actually saying anything about it other than "shits good, bro."

Yeah, I bought Champions Online + the six months because of the STO beta, not to say that I don't enjoy Champions....
I played it a bit at Eurogamer. The ground based combat was extremely shit, the space combat was ok, and there were a fuckton of bugs.
The controls were terrible, it took us (the brain power of 5 people) about 5 minutes to figure out how to fire phasers and torps, even with a card with supposed controls on it. The space combat was just, wait for the enemy to get into range, click on them, start shooting, fly around in circles till they blow up, select next target, repeat. It's like any generic WoW ripoff, but in space. Gameplay wasn't very smooth at all, and the mission we played basically had us teleport around, blow up 3 ships, teleport to a planet, shoot people by running up to their faces and holding down LMB, then teleporting somewhere else, killing more people, going back to space and blowing up some more ships, then teleporting to another area of space. Too much teleporting, very little was explained. Do not want.

Forgot to mention that I actually recorded us playing it for a while, I might upload it somewhere next week.
Well tonight's playtest is over. Fun game, got spend hours playing it and it seems the galaxy is massive, the way to travel to other places is really well thought out too.
Quite possibly going to buy this.

I am not sure if the transwarp portals are in the game yet but at the moment at max warp it will take quite a while to reach the other end of the map.

It should. It takes about a year in the show.
