Steam repeatedly tries to make me reinstall my games

I currently have the new 'Free Portal', HL2:DM from NVIDIA Offer, and HL:LC from NVIDIA offer. I was playing my games last night, but when I logged in this morning, Steam wants me to reinstall them. I already have the GCFs and such, and believe this may have something to do with deleting ClientRegistry.Blob. If there is a way to make Steam recognize that I already have the proper things, then it would be wonderful if you'd tell me.
So the files are all still there but they're listed as uninstalled in your games list? Deleting clientregistry.blob wouldn't do that.
It might recognize the files as soon as you "install" the games again.
Let them re-install.
It will either try to download them, realise they're there and tell you it's complete or it's trying to update and you're being a fool.
Its not an update. I have quite a few games, and none of my friends have had to update either Lost Coast or Deathmatch, so those dont need it. The only possible thing that could need an update is Portal, but Im pretty sure thats covered. Meh. Ill try the first guys method of clicking 'Install', and if it doesnt work, Ill let it do what it wants.'
Try deleting the already installed files and then just do a fresh install. It could be a bug with steam that comes up once in a blue moon.
Don't forget the computer restart though. No idea why, but that usually solves shit sometimes.
