I've tried everything, restart, re-install, delete ClientRegistry.blob, all the usual things but the simple fact is that Steam.exe will not open.
Can anybody help me out here? I really need my L4D 2 fix.
try disabling the firewall and then deleting client registry.blob and then you may have to restart your PC during the update process. It's a pain, but it got it going for me

L4D2 fix? My Warez sense is tingling.... shouldn't it be L4D2 update?
Just kidding about the warez part. But Ive seen people in other forums saying L4D Fix, and they got banned for Warez. ( Just saying, don't ban me )

Ok, to fix your problem, Ive heard, delete every single Steam Folder and file there is in Steam directory. [b][u]EXCEPT[/u][/b] Steamapps folder, and Steam.exe File. Launch steam, and it should reinstall everything. The rest that you didn't delete will stay the same.
He meant fix as in the junkie term, don't be stupid.
