• Alan Wake ending to be kept secret, may not be included in the preview copies
Remedy Entertainment is keen to keep the ending of new adventure game Alan Wake secret - so keen, in fact, they may not even include it in preview copies. As reported by G4 TV, bossman Matias Myllyrinne said, "I think we're going to be insanely careful about how much of the story we reveal. We'll clearly discuss with some of our friends at Microsoft whether we even give the ending of the game for anybody's preview. "I'd like to hold it back, don't want anybody to spoil it for the audience," he continued. "That's just my personal feeling." The problem, Myllyrinne explained, is that the internet makes it easier for people to spread spoilers. "People can piece these things together. They start to gather the puzzle and then all of a sudden [the whole story is] online..." Alan Wake is due for a release on Xbox 360 in spring 2010. Which seems like a long time to wait, considering it was apparently finished last August. A PC version will follow.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/alan-wake-ending-to-be-kept-secret Pretty clever if you ask me.
inb4 ending leaked.
The ending is free DLC released at day one.
They all die.
The ending is that it's not on PC. :sigh:
I gave up on Remedy so long ago, they literally shat all over the PC community :saddowns:
I gave up on Remedy so long ago, they literally shat all over the PC community :saddowns:
Seems to be a trend on that now-a-days isn't there?
I mean, the game's been in Development since fucking forever and then they just say "Nah guys, no PC planned." I mean, what the fuck were they doing for 5 years?
The ending is paid DLC released at day one.
Fixed.
I remember when this was supposed to be the defining game for Vista :v:
I remember when this was supposed to be the defining game for Vista :v:
This and Crysis, which would supposedly NEVER work on XP. Good times. Vista launch title? Not even a 7 launch title. Remedy you have lost...the game.

At least the DNF devs pretended they were doing something

Anyone else think that the non-consolers are going to get a raw deal here? I mean, the ending is going to be all over the internet once it is out on console and then it's ruined for the PC people. Basically: "Let's not include the ending in the preview game so the ending isn't ruined for the console version, but it doesn't matter if it is ruined for the PC guys."

I would've cared if you told me this like a year ago.
This game had better be able to turn shit to gold for it to be worth this wait. My excitement is almost nonexistent.
How can I be so unexcited about the next game from the guys who made Max Payne 2, my favourite game ever? :saddowns:
I've never really followed Alan Wake, but I've always wanted to play it. I guess when it comes to finally release, my expectations won't be game breakingly high. Still, i'm curious as to if it's going to be actiony like the Max Payne games, or something like Alone in the Dark.
