Don't. There are better games to get into.

Like?

I don't think that's what he asked.
Anyway, there's Final Fantasy III, but be warned, if you're not used to grinding, it'll be very difficult. You could also try Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2. It's not as good as the first, but it'll keep you occupied.

Beautiful response. That was so helpful to the OP. :colbert:
If you really want to get in to a Final Fantasy, I wouldn't necessarily get in to the DS versions. However, I played III for the DS and it wasn't too bad (though I never beat it. Fucking final boss. :argh: ).
Hmm ok what is a good RPG for the ds?
Both FF3 and FF4 are really hard on the DS.
FF3 has a turn-based battle system, while FFIV's is semi-real time. However, FF4 uses "normal" magic points, while FF3 uses "classic" magic points.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 is probably one of the best games on the Nintendo DS.

The World Ends with You
another must have essential for DS

The best JRPG on Nintendo DS right now is probably Dragon Quest IX.
Eh, only really played FF3 on DS. It was okay, but too much grinding.
TWEWY is incredibly repetitive and boring by the time you have to go through the same shit for the third time. And I have no idea how you can claim that TWEWY is a better game than the Final Fantasies, considering how it's not even a turn-based RPG. And the dual screen battle system is confusing as fuck, most of the time it's a better idea not to pay attention to the top screen and just pressing buttons randomly.
Also, both Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy IV are good, I didn't like Rings of Fate.
FF3 is hard as shit but the last part of the game is so epic it makes up for the frustration. FFIV has a better story obviously, but it's different. In FF3 you can pick your characters' job (changes skills and shit), in FFIV you just have those more developed characters with you.
FFIV looks better too and is more interesting to replay.
Overall I like IV better but the job thing in III is cool, you can experiment with different configurations.
You can also get Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls, which is a GBA game, but it works on DS and DS Lites. I think they're kind of boring though.
FF: Tactics A2 is probably the best Final Fantasy branded game on DS.
FF4 would be second.
FF3 is a good game too, FFXII Revenent Wings is quite poor. FF The four heroes of Light is ok, but very grindy.
Other good RPG's for the DS inclued
Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor
The World Ends with You.
(Toaca's wrong, you need to pay attention to the top screen or you're not going to trigger the combo move and you'll probably end up dying because you're taking too much damage. If you're playing on Easy mode, then yeah, button mash. The game is no fun on easy mode though. And people can claim it's better than FF because you don't need to be a turn based battle system to be better than FF)
Disgaea DS
Luminous Arc 1 + 2
Etrian Odyssey 1 + 2 + 3
Knights in the Nightmare
My favourite DS only RPG is Dragon Quest IX
My favourite all around RPG on DS is very easily Chrono Trigger because it's one of the best RPG's of all time. But is available on PS1 and SNES too.
lmao ds is gay
jk

dude what
[editline]30th January 2011[/editline]
Are you implying FF3/4 is non-repetitive?
I would also recommend picking up Dragon Quest 4 and 5.
6 should be out pretty soon too.
Rune Factory 1 - 3
... and pokemon (any. HG and SS are better imo tho) derp.

Um, you don't have to go through the exact same places doing the exact same thing all the fucking time, so no, it's not repetitive.
Pokemon Black and White

Oh shit, I forgot about this.
OP, go pick up Chrono Trigger. Easily one of the best RPGs put out by Square, honestly. There's no excuse for you to not play this game. :v:
Um, you don't have to go through the exact same places doing the exact same thing all the fucking time, so no, it's not repetitive.
The exact same thing?
You never really played TWEWY enough, You end up with pins that have very different effects and different activation methods. The same places is a fair criticism but you're set in a story based in a singular town (Shibuya), it's kinda lame but to be expected.
The same thing over and over criticism is more valid to the FF's and pretty much all other RPG's on DS. On Twewy you need to be focused and doing the gestures all the time. The monsters are usually immune to one thing or another, your top character being the only one that can damage them, or they absorb physical from the bottom so you have to use magic. I genuinely don't believe that's a valid criticism against TWEWY, especially in comparison to the always in the same place criticism.
So I guess Super Mario Bros. is repetitive since it's just about jumping.
And FYI, in Final Fantasy enemies have strengths and weaknesses too.
Besides, I don't see the point in going in a thread asking for Final Fantasy games yelling HAHA FINAL FANTASY SUCKS DON'T PLAY IT
Final Fantasy's overrated and it got a "sequel disease". That and i just hate Japanese RPGs in general.

The Strengths and Weaknesses in any FF to date (barring 11 and 14) do not pay as strong a part as they do in TWEWY.
I'm not saying FF sucks. I own every single one in the main series and plenty not main series. I'm an FF Fag, shoot me.
although this
