• Games with modding potential, but no modding tools

I hate developers lately. There is alot of games with modding potential. IE. World In Conflict, Company Of Heroes. It was such great games, but, there aren't any mods, or very little mods. Developers also seem to get lazy over adding an editor or map creator, which is going to meant that there will be even lesser mods. And, I was extremely disappointed in MW2. They showcased an editor to gametrailers during an interview, but have stated that MW2 will not have any mods. Imagine the mods, that could appear in MW2. New weapons, maps, vehicles or total conversions. Modern Warfare 1 was great, the old team had added in some modding tools, and several mods are being made and going to be released.
watch your grammar :firstpost: you can mod coh easily though as for MW2 cry us a river. :crying:
You should let modders mod. Then wait till it gets really popular. Buy the concept of the Devs and make a fully fledged game out of it. Like Valve does.

Farcry 2 Mercs 2 Mass effect ... big list here ...
Rfg
Rfg
there are mods for red faction guerilla.
KOTOR you could mod, but the community is tiny for it.
you are forgetting that most MMOs are also non-moddable, not even visually. the creators are just paranoid that way, why cant they provide room for modding? nearly every online FPS i know of allows modding.
arent you that guy who claimed they could make a mod and make it better than l4d2 in the time before they released l4d2
if you pool all the really good fan made L4D campaigns that are already out (and i mean the really good ones. Death abroad for example) You could essentially repackage it into a new game because there are so many of a high standard. Back on topic, modding like i say can be profitable. Case in point; TF2, CS:S Gmod.
there are mods for red faction guerilla.
The mods are pretty hacky though, the devs didn't make any modding tools.
The mods are pretty hacky though, the devs didn't make any modding tools.
Hardly any devs make modding tools now days.
Hardly any devs make modding tools now days.
Yeah...I hate it.... But I love Valve!
Irony in your post. As for MW2 - Go and play on your ever modless console.
I don't have a console
Company of Heroes has a mod that's looking like it has potential. It looks decent since there is a lack of decent mod tools. http://www.moddb.com/mods/coheastern-front However, I do agree. I find it disturbing that devs do not implement good mod tools.
I don't have a console
Then get out you heretic wanna be PC gamer.
World in Conflict had a full on map editor and SDK, it's just that not many people realised its modding potential.
Then get out you heretic wanna be PC gamer.
?
I'm still sad that there's no SDK for Dark Messiah Might and Magic. :crying:
Gta iv.
Gta iv.
no official modding tools, but fuck, are you stupid? I'm flying around on a skateboard as a fireman in GTA IV right now. If that isn't good modding, then what is? pic

But the community does it so well, that GTAIV actually doesn't fit in this thread.
Borderlands :frown:
Ironically enough Randy Pitchford said in an interview that he was looking forward to what the PC modding community would do with the game.
I wish the Hitman games could be modded.
I haven't seen a single good MW1 mod.
assassins creed, yeah, I know there are some texture replacements for it, but that's it...
