[release]My advice for those who play this, having it full screen is great and all but if It's too slow, put it in a smaller window. This might actually allow you to use the higher settings better. The game also looks really good in Widescreen (1280x600)

This. Is. Awesome.
Just played it. This is so freaking awesome, I can totally understand if SEGA wants to shut this down. This blows Sonic 4 out of the water, atleast for those who were looking for an old-style Sonic game with correct physics.
It is also suprisingly bug-free, I've only encountered two minor bugs (dying by falling very fast onto a slope, happened ONCE) and getting caught under a spring (happened one, managed to repeat it once but couldn't afterwards.)

As far as I'm concerned the speed, momentum an physics are near perfect and you're seriously complaining it's [i]too[/i] detailed? It's just aesthetics, the actual stages are virtually the same as Sonic 2.

Try your other enter, the numpad one.
Looks great, I hope they manage to make this into a full game before SEGA fucks them up.

Play it with a controller and map the button to that. It's pants with a keyboard anyway.

In older games sonic was kind of chubby and had black pupils. After going 3D however he got green eyes and became extremely thin. The shape of his head also changed.
It also seems safe to assume that these guys are referring to the villian as Robotnik, which most western fans tend to prefer, judging by that ROB-L--D sign. Sega's been extremely stubborn in referring to him by his less popular name "Eggman" in both Japan and western countries ever since they aired some Sonic anime in the United States.
It's Robotnik. Period. It's in his backstory.

IMO it was more fun than anything Sega has made recently.
This really puts Sonic 4 to shame, I'm a massive Sonic fan from all the classics it was my first game and this is a masterpeice the makers should be so proud and sega should let them do it, their just jelous they can't make Sonic as good as these people can.

Go to key mapping, and just remap them. Some keyboards refer to the Enter key as simply 'enter', while others refer to it as 'return'.
