Vox - A New Voxel Adventure/RPG game (Like Minecraft)

A new game called Vox, currently in development, looks like it could be a perfect mix between the Minecraft style of creation/mining/editing, but with an actual story and fun gameplay mechanics like Terraria and other adventure/rpg games.

The game already has a page on IndieDB:

In this game you can create and do so much more than Minecraft, such as completely customizable characters, weapon creation, building scenery for the world, making monsters (everything is edited right down to the individual blocks and voxels that make up every object).
There's already another game that's almost like this and being developed for longer and it's called Cube World: http://wollay.blogspot.pt/
Unless they're the same game and I'm making a confusion here. Please exemplify on the differences.
I thought this voxel fad was done with.
This does look like it shows some promise but I don't recommend marketing it as Minecraft and more of just a voxel based rpg. I think it would be received better if it wasnt just a "Minecraft clone". The character creator looks really neat though and I would like to play test for you if you need help finding bugs and such.
honestly i dont see how it clones miencraft or cube world
yeah both use voxels but for fuck sake if thats the case then everything copied that PS3 game that is completly based in voxels
hope to see new stuff about this!
Yeh I don't think it is a clone of Minecraft, since it looks very different and is only similar because of the block drawing style.
I haven't seen anything about cubeworld recently, when was the last video or update? my friend said the other day that cubeworld wasnt being updated anymore.

It is pretty similar to Cube World, atleast what I have heard of both this and Cube World is pretty similar.
Not saying either is copying the other ofcourse.

How do you know what copied what? I looked online and cant see a cubeworld video for over 6 months!
I dont think any games copy each other to be honest.
I mistook this for cubeworld.

They have a blog post from July.
Well, it doesn't look too bad. The video showcasing the boomerang scythe was pretty neat.
Main selling point here would probably be the customizable weapons. But does the drawing affect the weapons or are they just like the weapons from Drawn to Life?
To be honest I'm getting really tired of this "block world" fad, indie developers really need to start expanding and make unique games.

They do, this is a fact really, however, copying isn't inherently a bad thing, inovating on other people's ideas is one of the things that have gotten us as a species so far in the first place.

I dont think I explained correctly. I meant how can you tell which games copies which game. I checked online and both these games are in development (not out yet). Also I couldnt find any recent updates for cubeworld. More recent than over 6 weeks ago, are there any recent twitter updates?
This is the latest twitter update I could find: https://twitter.com/wol_lay/status/222386606932361216 dated 9th July
Could use some better textures and models but that's all fluff.
Cube world looks better

This is really early in development though.

Voxels are not a fad, they have a very real place and can be extremely useful. Voxels =/= world made out of cubes.
Also worth noting that Minecraft saves the world as voxels but doesn't render them (so I wouldn't call MC a voxel game).
I think the creation and editing parts of this game are amazing and really better than anything seen so far. I LOVE that you can create any type of character and design you want! and also any weapons too!! :D
im gonna make a penis sword
Considering the Dev comments quite often to the community, we should try to get him on here.

You mean this: http://pacroid.blogspot.ca/2010/05/3d-dot-game-heroes-ps3.html?
Yup that one.

I never played it, was it any good?
Could you create your own characters and monsters and weapons?
I played it for a few minutes but its basically a zelda clone where you can create a character just like in this game. I don't know about monsters or weapons though.
