This isn't one of those obvious reason threads, because I've googled it and apparently a lot of people have had this problem, and I don't think anyone has found a solution.
When I go to launch Counter-Strike: Source, the box comes up that says "Preparing to Launch" and then it disappears like it's going to launch and then.. nothing. No HL2.exe in Task Manager, nothing. It just won't launch. Half-Life 2 does this too, so I'm assuming all source games do it.
I just now got my computer back, and I installed Windows 7.. I've downloaded all drivers for my video card and all updates for Windows. I don't know what else to do, some people have said to edit the launch options, but none of that works. And yes, I've restarted my computer/steam and reinstalled..
sorry, i dont have any idea, i used to have a similar problem, but my computer wwas way old. when i got my new commy for christmas, it all worked just fine.
it might just be that your computer isnt up to the specifications
feel free to prove me wrong by quoting your epic alienware model, but im guessing that this is the problem
