When I try to run my steam version of S:SoC the screen goes black and my monitor says out of range, Like it's set for a high resoluition or something. Is ther any fix for this, or a way I could fiddle with the resolutions to get it to work?
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\stalker-shoc\user.ltx and edit the resolution value there.
Hmm. It was already at my normal resolution and putting it on windowed or 800x600 didn't help anything.
Pc specs and screen type please.

(i recommend an ati 4780 since they are cheap and can run it maxed out if you lower sun rays and anti analiasing. 70+Fps all round and 30 fps in the morning due to sun rays. edit: Monitor: Generic Non-PnP Monitor This means your monitor is not recognised by your pc.(non PnP = Not Plug And Play) You will have to be carefull when setting the refresh rate and resolution or it will go out of your display range. This will probably be fixed when you get a nice video card with better drivers and support for more screens.
