• Games are have more and more generic ideas

Right now, there are only a few game companies with good ideas. Its always the generic USA vs Russia/China/terrorist or WW2 games. I say, It would be quite interesting to have something like the Sri Lanka Conflict, the longest war so far. Or, have a Korean war conflict where you are in the shoes of a korean soldier. I am getting sick of games where they most of the time, or always, show war from the Americans perspective. I want to see some conflict in Africa where you are a black african too. Or a chinese, a russian or a japanese.
Real world military themed games today only profit among mainstream audiences if they show America versus random Opforians Change the thread title too There are a few conflicts I'd like to see in mainstream games like the Boer War. Play as a Boer militiaman against the British in an open-word guerrilla campaign with a little bit of strategic elements added to it. Or the 1973 Yom Kippur War, where anti-tank missiles were first used on the battlefield and the battles of the Golan and the Sinai rivaled that of WWII ones like Kursk. I'd really want to see something like this: you as a civilian living in the capital city of a 1940s like American style country that has been recently defeated by its more powerful neighbor to the south with architecture and culture resembling that of Turkey and Southern Europe. With many political and military factions around the city and surrounding countryside you'll join, fight or observe any of them as they try to topple the puppet provisional government and carve a better place for its people.
FUCKKKKKKKK I screwed up the title. RATE ME BAD SPELLING
FUCKKKKKKKK I screwed up the title. RATE ME BAD SPELLING
Done.
Done.
Thank you. Have a heart.
A game set in the Korean War would be extremely boring, you'd basically play as an American Soldier firing at charging rows of easily killed Chinese Soldiers until you: A.) Run out of ammo B.) Get bored C.) Feel so horrible at killing so many people so easily, that you just want to give them a chance.
WWI Battle of Paschendaele. Fuck yeah creeping barrage.
Why must it be a war game at all? Think beyond the walls.
how about something that isn't about war.
They should make a nazi game where you can kill jews and there can be like time trial modes and stuff like that
FUCKKKKKKKK I screwed up the title. RATE ME BAD SPELLING
Don't feel bad, the misspelling in the title was really the reason I clicked on it. In any case, I agree with you partially. Although FPSs are getting quite generic, there are still plenty of amazing independent games out there, and there are still gems hidden behind the big-budget games with tons of hype.
how about something that isn't about war.
I want a game where you play as an explorer on an unexplored world, mapping your progress and trading with the native folk.
They should make a nazi game where you can kill jews and there can be like time trial modes and stuff like that
I think some company tried to make a game in the views of the nazis, but it was sunked with a shitstorm of bad publicity.
Late. We all knew about this before your not the first.
They should make a nazi game where you can kill jews and there can be like time trial modes and stuff like that
Controversy will fuck it up. I'd like to see a game where you play a soldier in a oppressive central government, and instead of being shitty and making you switch sides and fight alongside rebels, you just raid their hideouts and fuck them up.
I want a game where you play as an explorer on an unexplored world, mapping your progress and trading with the native folk.
Your game was made over 20 years ago, but no one so far has attempted to bring it into the modern age commercially.
I think some company tried to make a game in the views of the nazis, but it was sunked with a shitstorm of bad publicity.
That'd actually be really cool.
Your game was made over 20 years ago, but no one so far has attempted to bring it into the modern age commercially. Seven Cities of Gold
That seems much like the 'Oregon Trail' game, except you're the Spanish discovering America. Would be cool modernized though, as would any game of the sort. Especially if it included randomly generated continents or something similar.

That could turn out to a pretty damn good game if polished enough (And not a sandbox game....) I think it would be best to leave it up to you as to whether to be a dick or not.
I want a game where you can lie to one person and say that you'll join their side, and lie to another person and join their side, but then betray both of them and get them fighting while you leave with the loot.
I want a game where you get to be hitler. And he's a supersoldier. With a giant metal cock. And your goal is to anal your enemies.
I want a game where you get to be hitler. And he's a supersoldier. With a giant metal cock. And your goal is to anal your enemies.
Wow, first time I've heard anyone use "anal" as a verb.
Timesplitters 4 might be coming out. Even though it's another 4 game, it's still a damn good premise. It has the flexibility to have any environment, from vietnam to an alien space war to a haunted castle. It's the switch army knife of FPS and I think it's one of the few games that SHOULD have several sequels. [editline]07:05AM[/editline] But yeah, FPS games are crowded with either over-patriotic American military games, or gothy games like The Darkness and painkiller.
More SWAT games SWAT 4 was fucking good
Mix ArmA2 and Spore with Red Orchestra vehicles and IL2 Sturmovik aircraft. Game.
I want games where you play as the germans in WW2 (See: the new red orchestra)
Games that don't have Generic Ideas : Crysis STALKER series all valve games World in Conflict ( because you play as Russia vs U.S. in SP ) Fallout series. Killing Zone Operation Flashpoint Borderlands and many many more If you ask me... the 'Post-Apocalyptic' genre needs to be expanded more, as it is my favorite genre in video games. The idea of being alone in a destroyed world. I'd like to see a game where you are in a Grand Theft Auto like world, and your the only one in this world, and the world has millions of zombies and these zombies only come out at night, so your daytime is filled with scavenging for supplies to survive the night.
how about something that isn't about war.
A game about cuddling.
Dead rising for the wii is cuddling. The only items are a teddy bear, a puppy and a blanket. And some milk and cookies.
Crysis all valve games
lol. Crysis was generic as hell, just really good graphics. The only really innovative valve games are Half-Life 2, Portal and maybe Left 4 Dead.
