At least it actually has two analog sticks now.
its the original PSP with a second analog stick which should have been there in the first place.

I am honestly intrigued as to your reason of why you consider this awful.

Sony revealed its brand new PlayStation Portable at an event in Tokyo today, giving us our first official look at the PlayStation maker's next bold foray into handheld gaming, the "Next Generation Portable." Here are the first details. The Hardware Sony confirmed many of the features of the PSP2 that we've already heard in the form of leaks, rumor and speculation. The PSP2 features a high-resolution, touch-sensitive OLED screen that's larger than the original PSP screen, tilt-sensitive SIXAXIS controls, dual analog sticks, front and back-facing cameras, and a touch sensitive back panel. Sony boasts that the new PlayStation Portable is as powerful as a PlayStation 3. The device features built-in WiFi and 3G wireless connectivity and uses an all-new form of media storage for games—no more UMD. For now, Sony is officially calling the new PlayStation Portable by its codename, Next Generation Portable or NGP. It will be out this holiday. CPU: TBD RAM: TBD Storage: Display: 5 inch OLED with 960 x 544 resolution Wireless: WiFi, 3G, GPS Inputs: Touchscreen, touch sensitive back panel, D-pad, L/R shoulder buttons, standard PlayStation buttons The Games Sony showcased a handful of games alongside the reveal of the new PSP, including new titles Little Deviants and Gravity Daze, plus games based on the following PlayStation franchises. [img_thumb]http://cdnmo.coveritlive.com/media/image/201101/phpHeEBxaphoto8.JPG[/img_thumb] They've got Uncharted running on this thing.' Sadly, it's a double edged sword. Yeah, it's got some serious horsepower, but knowing Sony, the pricing is going to be a serious issue. If they can price it at $300 or lower I'll probably get one. Also, the game prices are going to be an issue, seeing as how they are most likely going to cost just as much as console titles.
If sony puts more titles onto this like LBP 2 and whatnot then this is an insta-buy for me. It seems like it has the potential to replace the PS3.
They've ditched UMDs, thankfully.
For me hand this is going to end up like the Wii and Kinect. Great technology but shit games. I mean LBP and Uncharted are great games. LBP 2 is already out and we are expecting Uncharted 3 soon. They've almost become out of date.

Looks way better the the 'brick' and the 2000+ series.
