Survivor You may or may not know about Half-Life 2: Survivor, a arcade version of Half-Life 2 with additional online play (with modes sort of like Team Fortress 2 and Obsidian Conflict). Sadly, it was only released in japan despite being a interesting concept, aside from one exception: For all i know, the only HL2S Machines in the US are in Valve's headquarters. What do you, the members of FP, know about HL2S? Has anyone gotten first-hand experience with it? Has anyone managed to coax Valve or Taito into sharing more information about it? I'm considering contacting valve to learn a bit about the technical side of the game, namely Whether or not HL2S's unique portions are stored as standard GCFs or they use some arcane method. That's certainly what it appears to be, but it's different from HL2DM in unusual ways. That's mainly why i'm interested in it. I hope HL2DM gets all HL2S' new weapons and so on, some day. I'd love to have 1st party co-op instead of having to rely on Synergy and Obsidian Conflict...
I remember this.
HL2 meets TF2?
HL2 meets japanese designers I want to touch it for about 5 years
I would like to play this, but I think the HUD looks terribad
I enjoy the fact they used models from the HL2 Beta. It would be cool if it was released on steam, also. I wouldn't mind coughing up some bucks for that, I tell you what.
All the anime models make me not want to play it.
I spotted a gordon freeman model at 0:36. And it looks like sorta like one of the ones made before for gmod purposes. [editline]21st January 2011[/editline] Or, wait... No, it doesnt.
All the anime models make me not want to play it.
Didn't see any anime models
I saw this on the CombineOverwiki
Didn't see any anime models
Check the wiki, it's filled with screen shots of anime player models.
I saw this on the CombineOverwiki Check the wiki, it's filled with screen shots of anime player models.
Uhm, No. I checked, Nothing anime-ish. [editline]21st January 2011[/editline] Im looking at all the pics, show me this "anime" models picture, i see none.
HL2 meets TF2?
Except it came out years before TF2 was anywhere near what it released as.
Except it came out years before TF2 was anywhere near what it released as.
Yeah but the classes where around in TF1 and they look like they are ripped straight form there.
Survivor[/b
God damn, those models are horrendous!
The Anime models freaking suck, but the gameplay overrall looks awesome.
I mean, the overall model design is ugly as fuck! Though since this was made during the Beta, I think it's interesting to see Combine based models and compare them to the finished versions.

What's with ever Japanese mp games always having only female player models
Is it just me or Kathar's Gordon Freeman model appeared in that trailer?
I don't think they have it in Japan anymore either. Japan doesn't have good arcades really, only the small ones, but hopefully some bigger arcades will have it. If I find one, I'll tell you guys if it's any good.
That Gordon model looks alot like the one Valve made but never released.... we must get the files from that game... who knows whats in there!!
Bloody Japs, they're always getting their weird stuff before we do.
if they only could release it on steam. since its machine works on windows xp i don't think there could be any kind of technical problems. it's concepts seems much more interesting than boring dm after all, even if it's worst. Just sent Gabe Newell an email about this game, also asked if it would ever be released on Steam. I really hope it does, it looks like Team-HalfLife 2.
They can't do nothing about it since they didn't develop HL2: Survivor, If you want it so much just order a japanese cabinet, You'll likely be able to play on your computer too with some modifications since it's based on Windows XP
They could easily, since they partnered with Taito in order to make it, and Valve still own the licensing.
Looks like a chore to play
Someone email gabe about the gordon freeman model, and if it can be released.
What's with ever Japanese mp games always having only female player models
There's male models too, you know. Also, I don't think they count as 'anime' because they're not cartoony. Just normal crazy japanese stuff. Interestingly, there's also a Story mode in Survivor, cutting up bits and pieces from the full HL2 campaign. Like that first rocket APC you encounter is a boss fight and such.
Someone email gabe about the gordon freeman model, and if it can be released.
Not gonna happen. If they wanted it released, they've had plenty of chances to do so (like throwing it into a HL2:DM/Gmod update).
