Yeah.. the Celestial Steed. What a shocker. A virtual object for 20€/25$ (Yes, I said virtual object!) Seriously people that bought it are insanely ignorant and dumb. In a game where I PAY a monthly subscription there should NOT be an external store where you can buy stuff with real money. Not even if it's just cosmetic (Oh and just by the way: I don't consider flying in Dalaran to be cosmetic, but what do I know) Here are some stupid arguments cleared right away: 1) You don't have to buy it!! No, I don't, but I pay for the game every god damn month so I don't think DLC is suitable. 2) 20€/25$ is nothing! You're just a kid and your mom doesn't want to give you her credit card. Yea, 20€ might not be much but if you consider that you're actually using it to buy an item in a virtual world.. God damn it. This costs as much as the actual GAME + Burning Crusade / Wrath of the Lich King. Just think about it. I'm just glad Blizzard didn't make another "Buy THIS! 0,01% of it WILL go to charity!! (For a purchase in the next 3 days)" attempt just to shut the complainnig people up. PS: I also think that it's a gigantic rip-off for the people that actually achieved getting the mount Invincible because the Steed uses the same friggin' model. What a punch in the face. So what do you think of this mount? :bandwagon:
Well look at it this way, maybe that money will go to developing a better game?
i like my amani war bear and twilight drake a lot, so won't be buying one even though it's account wide. i don't like the way the mount looks personally.
I find it annoying on every race execpt humans, who are honestly the only ones who look good on horses.
Well look at it this way, maybe that money will go to developing a better game?
hahaha no. It's going to go towards lining Blizzard wallets. You think they don't already make enough loot to "develop a better game?" You're just trying to make an excuse for this worthless piece of shit. It's just a reskin. Why would anybody buy this?
My zebra works fine for me, thank you.
OP can't afford $25
So you're jealous because you can't get one? It's their game, they get to add what they want to. It's a vanity it's not like you have to buy it to play better. and the horse looks freaking ugly.
look at it this way, I paid $50 for a RAF gift (which I'm going to turn in once they implement the new rocket) and didn't hear anyone else complaining. there's no reason to complain about other people paying money for vanity shit, and "you don't have to buy it" is a completely viable response. don't think you're such a big shit because you pay monthly already, because there's 11 mil that do it too.
okay $25 is a complete waste of fucking money but Invincible doesn't use the same model as the celestial steed. just sayin
okay $25 is a complete waste of fucking money but Invincible doesn't use the same model as the celestial steed. just sayin
I pretty sure the celestial steed is the same model as invincible, just with some parts modified (less armor, wings are made rounder.etc) with algalon's textures pasted over it.
The steed is a re-skin of Invincible. A fairly lazy one, at that. To each their own, but I think that paying half the price of a game for a useless vanity item is a bit... questionable. It's a question of the worth of the money when compared to the worth of the content. If you really value it, so be it (and god help you). I bet an intern threw the skin together in a few hours. :derp:
okay $25 is a complete waste of fucking money but Invincible doesn't use the same model as the celestial steed. just sayin
Invincible is the pinnacle of lazyness on Blizz's end. It uses the god damn gryphon animations, and it looks shit flying because of that.
I haven't bought anything other than the game & subscription, and assuming I ever unfreeze my account I sure as hell won't be buying anything from their virtual store. To me, not having that type of a store is what separated WoW from most other MMO's. I'm just glad they haven't started selling gear/levels (oh wait...)/gold......yet. Look at it this way: in a game where everyone wants to be unique, yet all look exactly the same, you can take pride in your non-Invincible ripoff mount.

I've gotten countless whispers telling me how stupid I am for buying one. But it's like.. Fuck off, if I want to spend MY MONEY on something for a game then I have every right to. Nobody is forcing you to buy it and it seems as if you're just being a whiney little bitch for the sake of it. I have about $300 in my drawer as it is right now, it's been sitting there doing nothing for months. I might as well invest some of it in something I want rather than letting it rot.
Personally, I love it. I feel my money was really well spent and every time I mount up I'm still almost in awe at how cool I think it is. Fuck all you haters. As long as I like it that's all that matters. I don't need to be told how to spend my hard earned money by a bunch of kids on the internet.
Oh and just by the way: I don't consider flying in Dalaran to be cosmetic, but what do I know
What are you on about? You can't fly in Dalaran with the Spectral Steed, no more than you can with any other mount.
If people want to spend their money on that, let them do it? What's your loss on it? I'm not buying it, by the way.
I like the utility that it's sent to all your chars, and it scales. really good for leveling multiple alts which I plan to do over the summer.
It's more unique to NOT have one. I'll just keep these $25. [editline]12:41PM[/editline] also the swim speed is OP
It's more unique to NOT have one. I'll just keep these $25. [editline]12:41PM[/editline] also the swim speed is OP
This. I seen like 30 of these in dalaran around the bank. Would rather ride my headless horseman mount which has the exact same abilities as this thanks.
In my opinion, the offer is better there, than non-existent.
This. I seen like 30 of these in dalaran around the bank. Would rather ride my headless horseman mount which has the exact same abilities as this thanks.
You mean your Baron Rivendare re-skin?
Anyone who is buying one to try and be "unique" is a fucking idiot, anyone who is buying one because it looks awesome is not.
My mount (see below) is more unique than this thing (the horse). :colbert: [editline]01:02PM[/editline] Also I dont think it's pretty. WoWHead ruined it for me.
Reporting in.
My mount is more unique than this thing.
Once again, it's not about it's uniqueness for most people.
ill give you that but I still think it looks like a mutant unicorn
OP stop raging. If people want to buy it, there is nothing wrong with it, everyone is different, just because you think paying for a virtual model is bad, doesn't mean it actually is. Personally, I haven't bought one, but I would like to, because it looks pretty awesome, I need a new flyer, also it's account wide, so my alts can have something new too, and I would like to support Blizzard.
